"How West Indies deserved their win; they were resolute, disciplined and skilful throughout. We knew they could bowl but their batsmen came up with the goods under pressure, with Blackwood a surprising hero ..."

Vic Marks: West Indies hold on for famous win over England after dramatic first Test
"On Friday, Archer had been goaded by the old Bajan fast bowler Tino Best on Twitter. “Your bowling toothpaste,” Best said, “and u haven’t bowled quickly since the ASHES, now go sleep and get some rest for WI to beat ya ball second innings.”

After being named in the England team for the 2nd test ...

"Jofra Archer was today sensationally left out of the second Test against West Indies at Emirates Old Trafford after breaking coronavirus protocols by making an unauthorised detour to visit his home ..."

Jofra Archer took 100-mile detour to go home, breaking England's biosecurity rules to put team-mates in danger - before he was kicked out of the squad after a TRACKER picked up his secret Hove trip

Image

The players drove from the Ageas Bowl near Southampton to Old Trafford in Manchester - a journey of 227 miles lasting about four hours if the most direct route is taken

The detour from the Ageas Bowl to Archer's home in Hove added another 120 miles to the trip

I do hope that we will not end up regretting having a specialist spinner on this wicket:
"Chase is a much better bowler in Test matches against England than he ever was against the club sides of the Sussex Premier League, where he spent a season playing for Cuckfield in 2015 ..."

Roston Chase's ordinary fare proves too rich for England batsmen

Interesting to see the Match Referee's hysterical son selected, given his long-standing sense of self-entitlement.

As the rain saved England from a day of chasing leather around Old Trafford, there are no highlights of play.

Instead, let us rewind to the third day's play of a previous England v West Indies Old Trafford Test:
