Well said, howzdat...what you just said has probably been an education to the likes of Afro. Those traditions have now died out...kids are not playing that any more in the streets. It's football, athletics, basketball, etc. The only form of cricket the kids are playing now is a version of T20....

Afro, I'm going to tell you a tale of two spinners, both of whom had dodgy actions that were obvious from the moment they burst onto the stage.

One is named Shane Shillingford, and he stuck to the West Indies set-up, was called once, then twice, and has now been discarded. He's been reduced to taking a pittance from the Windwards set-up in order to make a living, without a hope of being called back by the WI selectors.

The other is named Sunil Narine, who chose the way of the IPL, was called once, then twice, and is in danger of now being discarded. However, he earned a helluva lot of money from the IPL, and if he never plays again, he can retire a rich man.

One stuck with the WICB, and other did not...it's pretty clear to me that Narine made the right choice by taking the IPL route....

"West Indies spinner Sunil Narine has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect after his action has been found to be illegal. An independent assessment revealed that all variations of his deliveries exceeded the 15-degree limit. Narine's action was reported earlier this month during the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Pallekele."

That means he's out of the BPL too...could he also be out of the West Indies team for the world T20 champs in March?

"Sunil Narine has once again been reported for a suspect bowling action, this time during the Pakistan Super League game between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators on March 14. This means he has been placed on the PSL's watch list, but can continue to play the tournament unless reported again. The PCB will pass on the match officials' report on Narine's action to Cricket West Indies (CWI)."
