Last game was on a spinning track and we let them off the hook in both innings when we had them in trouble. Expect a better performance at Bina and hopefully, Cariah will get a game. Ambris has certainly done well though as has Joseph and Cornwall. Can the yardies turn up for once in their own backyard? Let's see :D .

Jacobs has bowled well in the series so far. It's interesting how you deliberately ignore him.
8-)
Joseph seven wickets at 112 runs.

Jacobs eight wickets at 109 runs.

I guess some trough dwellers just can't help their anti Jamaicans bias. This is why the so called unity of the west indies is dying.

It seems that the entire first day's play was washed out.

Of course there is no "unity" in the eyes of AN ENGLISH MAN, because that's what you're encouraging. But thankfully we've seen how unified the region is in the aftermath of the the terrible hurricane!!!..REAL CARRIBEAN people have stepped up to help their fellow islanders thank you very much 8-)

And it's funny how you didn't mention Leveridge or Thomas!!!..what about their stats old boy? Care to mention them?

Still ignoring Jacobs, afro?
8-)
Thomas and Leveridge have pace, but pace like fire is impotent without the ability to use the old ball...that's the problem with a lot of our young pacers, as well as old-timers such as Gabriel. If Gabriel doesn't come across a pitch that helps him, he's next to useless.

Talking about useless, on the second day's play in a match ruined by rain at Sabina Park, West Indies were bowled out for a paltry 181 all out.

Hodge 4
Campbell 8
Brooks 4
Singh 15
Hamilton 2
Ambris 101
Cornwall 19
Jacobs 18
Joseph 4
Thomas 1

Once again, Ambris is the only batsman of note....

Pushpakumara took 4-67.

It seems stumps were taken with Sri Lanka 68-1.

Which genius at the WICB thought October would be a good month to play cricket in Jamaica? October is the island's wettest month.

The results of these games aren't important, it's the individuals that emerge from them that matters. We beat an India-A team featuring Rahane, Dhawan, Pujura, Rohit etc...basically most of the players they have in their test team today. And look how they turned out? Ambris has separated himself from the pack and I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a call up for the test side. Why the selectors and coaches continue to waste time with Singh and Brooks, when Cariah was the top scorer in the PCL last year, is anyone's guess  Hamilton also missed a chance to put pressure on Dowrich!!..although Ambris can keep wicket so that might be one thing to consider.

Hodge shouldn't be there and Campbell is too inconsistent. Alleyne for Bim needs to score runs and so do Solozano, Tage Chanderpaul and Jangoo!!..those are the guys I'm looking at as far as openers are concerned. Evin Lewis would be great to have but he needs to commit to the longer version of the game before he can get a chance.

Exactly, Googley, we've gone backwards....

Sri Lanka 273

Joseph 2-43
Thomas 2-54
Leveridge 2-25
Jacobs 2-58

Cornwall 1-76 not so good this time

Another poor batting performance by the west indies.

West indies 118 all out

Campbell 13
Hodge 0
Brooks 52
Singh 15
Ambris 1
Hamilton 0
Cornwall 15

Not much from the tail.

Jayasuriya 6-60
Pushpakumara 4-19

Sri Lanka 27-0 win by 10 wickets.

A two day match?

It was complete rubbish tbh...how the hell do you win the toss and choose to bat first when your team were bundled out cheaply in the previous game? And once again, the deck was spinning like crazy by all accounts. Couple that with the coaches playing only FIVE batsmen, then we were asking for trouble. Basically the only guys on this team who could have a future are...

Ambris= Obviously as he's in the best form of his life right now and is already in the WI one day team

Hamilton= He still has a chance because of his previous form and he will have to find it quickly for Leewards

Cornwall= Once again everything revolves around his fitness. If he gets fit, he has a great chance of playing because he's been good with both bat and ball.

Campbell= I still give him a slim chance because he's still young and as we've seen with Ambris things can change fast in this game

Joseph= Keeps taking wickets so he's certainly one of the reserve pacers for the senior side right now

Jacobs= A slim chance because Bishoo is doing well but he'll have to have a GREAT season for Yard to put pressure on Bishy tbh

The likes of Hodge, Singh and even Brooks don't really have a chance right now imo. Thomas though, for his first first-class games, done fairly well so hopefully he'll now go back to Jamaica and keep taking wicket. Same with Leveridge.

Afro, I agree with your assessment, except to add that it's highly unlikely that Cornwall will attain the required fitness to make the Test team. You used to make fun of Tamar Lambert's fitness, despite his impressive performances with bat and ball. The same goes for Cornwall.

Lambert - 99 FC matches, batting ave 28.12, bowling ave 25.68
Cornwall - 33 FC matches, batting ave 22.59, bowling ave 24.80

1) Sunil Ambris - 278 runs @ average of 55.60 = EXCELLENT
2) Vishal Singh - 20 runs @ ave of 24 = FAIL
3) Shamar Brooks - 93 runs @ ave of 18.60 = FAIL
4) John Campbell - 83 runs @ ave of 16.60 = FAIL
5) Montcin Hodge - 33 runs @ ave of 6.60 = MASSIVE FAIL
6) Jahmar Hamilton - 22 runs @ ave of 4.40 = MASSIVE FAIL
7) Rahkeem Cornwall - 118 runs @ ave of 23.60 = FAIL
8) Rahkeem Cornwall - 14 wickets @ average of 27.85 = GOOD
9) Keon Joseph - nine wkts @ ave of 17.22 = EXCELLENT
10) Damion Jacobs - 12 wkts @ ave of 20.08 = EXCELLENT
11) Sheldon Cottrell - four wkts @ ave of 29.25 = PASS
12) Reynard Leveridge - two wkts @ ave of 31 = PASS
13) Oshane Thomas - four wkts @ ave of 41.50 = FAIL

So, the best performers were....

Ambris
Joseph
Jacobs

They are only ones who can seriously be considered for the New zealand tour. Ambris and Joseph must be there, IMHO, but Jacobs only gets in if Bishoo is injured.

These are the ones who've earned a place in the next 'A' team IMHO....

Cornwall
Cottrell
Leveridge

The others need to go back to the PCL and we should pick a new 'A' team after that.

So, how did the one-day side fare? Any new prospects for the 'B' team?
8-)
In a low-scoring encounter at Sabina Park, Sri Lanka 'A' beat West Indies 'A' by two wickets with two overs to spare. Kumara and Aponso took three wickets each to dismiss the West Indies for 77 all out, Montcin Hodge topscoring with 54. Despite Sheldon Cottrell's 4-44, Sri Lanka took a 1-0 lead in the series.
