ICC WCQ Super SIX stage is a farce and absolutely ridiculous.

Why have a super six stage when teams bringing points over from the group stage for beating teams without ODI status and not relevant anymore? This doh make sense

There is NO reason for the super six if you will not reset the points. The teams coming over with zero points have NO chance advancing and their games are pointless.

There should have been a semi-final and final only from here.

West Indies 197/8

Afghanistan 198/7 (47.4/50 ov, target 198)

Disappointing but not suprising.

Even though we didn't have to win this game, there comes a time when certain SENIOR players have to look themselves In the f#cking mirror  . GAYLE? SAMUELS? BRATHWAITE? NURSE? MILLER? just f#cking wukless and piss poor. Allyuh been screaming for Miller to get a chance and what has he done? NOTHING. We bring back di "world boss" and what has he done? One good innings of which Hetty also got a ton, then what? NOTHING. And "elegance" has also been a disgrace too.

The bowling looks weak as hell as well with Brathwaite looking a complete waste of space along with the other seniors. Holder's captaincy has also been lacking In so many ways. This is a pathetic performance because once again we were cruising to a good score and then totally collapsed down the order.

This is clearly our weakest format and so every now and then you're gonna get results like this. Many will blame di board as usual but WHAT AB0UT THE PLAYERS? How many times can we keep changes coaches, giving them better preparation, warm-up games etc before they take responsibility for their performances?

I see some skunts calling us a "minnow", with one particular English pr/ck claiming that "this is our level"..well was it "our level" WHEN YOUR "A-TEAM" LOST TO THE SAME AFGAN SIDE IN THE T20 WORLD CUP? I'll wait!!....

There is a lot of work to be done In our cricket. But we will not let one part of it (The odi team) dampen our hopes for the future. We remain a force In the t20s, have just beaten up the cream of county cricket and have several promising young players coming up, so we not worried whether we make the world cup or not. Because at the end of the day, the reality is we're not likely to win it anyway, so though it would be a disgrace and a shock to miss out, it will not deter us from our mission of bringing our cricket back to where we all want it to be.

What happened to your usual chant of "forward"?
The reality is that the WICB has presided over the demise of the West Indies Test and ODI sides, and that we are now scraping new lows. Yes, this is our level....
8-)
The West Indies showed that they belonged in this company by crashing to a three-wicket defeat to Afghanistan in a low-scoring Super Sixes match at Harare. Shai Hope topscored with a pedestrian, Test-worthy 43 from 94 balls as the West Indies limped to 197/8, unable to cope with the spin of Mujeeb Rahman (3-33) and Mohammed Nabi (2-43), while there were identical 1-31 hauls for Rashid Khan and Sharafuddin Ashraf. Rahmat Shah then showed Hope how it's done by hitting 68 from 109 balls to guide the afghans to victory. Medium pacers Jason Holder (3-39) and Keemo Paul ((2-29) did most damage in a losing cause.

I notice you trough-dwellers focus your small-island, parochial minds on the Jamaicans in the side, but you ignore the poor performances of your small-island favourites. Here's some stats for you:

Only two batsmen have strike rates of over one run a ball - Gayle and Hetmyer. The worst strike rate was Hope with 53, like he's playing Test cricket....
Gayle averages 40 with the bat, but Lewis averages less than 20. No words for Hope and Lewis then? as long as the WICB is run by biased small islanders like you, the Windies Test and ODI sides won't improve....

In contrast, when Russell, Bravo and Pollard turn up for their IPL teams, they're fully committed in training, etc.
But wait!!!, NOW it's Ok to drop the primadonnas? :o

What do you think we've been battling for so long? You think it's been all about "money"? :? If you heard the truth about how some of these players have acted on the training pitch and towards their coaches, you wouldn't believe it. There's a REASON Gibbo fell out with many of them whilst Simmo was often seen laughing and joking with them, do the maths.

And of course dem IPL man dem "act accordingly" when they go to the IPL, because they know they are easily replaceable if they act up. The same cannot be said for WI. When we take action the whole region explodes and points fingers at us so we can't win either way  .

So, if I read this thread correctly. Those who are close to the action have cited a bad work ethic and general all round lazyness as the reasons for BWICBC's select XI ODI team present woes.

Effectively, the seniors, are lazy and a cancer....and once that cancer is cut out then blah blah blah which seems possible enough until you consider....we've heard it all before, with Radford, Simmons, Dyson, Richardson, Gibson, Ambrose, this bowling coach, that administrator #rinseandrepeat ...so, maybe this apparent tumor lies much closer to home :?:

At this point, while I simultaneously overlook the bold print that confirms both BWICBC ODI & Test teams as minnows I offer, if there were any truth to this claim of the seniors as a cancer then what exactly are the selectors & coaches getting paid for & why should any new appointments be made at all :?:

Further, as the claimant has been making that same noise for close to a decade now I would have to conclude the accusation is founded around cultural perceptions or alternativey, a hang up :!:

Bias and personalities to one side, whats to stop the next generation of players being just as lazy or money hungry...certainly not bwicbc.....so mek dem hold deh liks yeah. Forking Minnows :!:

That was very exciting, the first full match I've watched too.

A good team performance, very unexpected. Special mention to the H Town massive also, because the atmosphere at the ground looked memorable.

Every time a look round someone is notching up three figures on them but chasing 290 was the 5th biggest succesfull run chase in BWI history. You think they might have found their level :?:
