We better take advantage of this tournament, because it's looking like nuff licks for whichever team gets into the World Cup proper.

Zimbabwe 289 all out.

Taylor 138

Holder 4-35
Roach 3-55
Paul 2-55

Hope Lewis and Samuels hit important half centuries as the West Indies win by four wickets.

WI gets into the World Cup with the help of a bad umpiring decision and rain.

Talk about getting through by the skin of our teeth...five runs by D/L after a dodgy decision accounted for Berrington.

Evin Lewis hit 66 and Marlon Samuels 51, but the other batsmen failed to get going, as the West Indies limped to 198 all out, against pacers Sharif (3-27) and Brad Wheal (3-34). Scotland were 125-5 from just over 35 overs, when the rain came to our assistance. There were two wickets each for Kemar Roach and ashley Nurse.

This doesn't augur well for the World Cup itself....

This was the best chance for our declining West Indies team to win an ICC 50-overs tournament, and they failed to do so. and yet, the blind say "forward"....
afghanistan crushed the West Indies by seven wickets with nine overs in hand in the final of the World Cup prelims. Mujeeb Rahman took 4-43 to dismiss the Windies for 204 all out, Rovman Powell topscoring with 44. Mohammed Shahsad then hit 84 and Rahmat Shah 52 as the afghans easily knocked off the target, Chris Gayle taking two wickets with his part-timers. The WI frontline bowling was innocuous.
