what a beat dung that was! Phew! GAW fell apart in all directions. Only Tahir looked like a professional. One small sign of hope was that young fast bowler.

The batting sucked! They have 2 more regular games to get ready for the semis. Lets hope they use the opportunities in a positive manner. I dont think coach and captain get a long...not a good sign.

In the first qualifier at Providence last night, Guyana secured their place in the final with a two-wicket win over Trinbago Knight Riders with one ball remaining in a low-scoring match.

Chris Green took two wickets for eight runs, and he was supported by Sohail Tanvir (2-38) and Rayad Emrit (2-22), as they restricted TKR to 122-7, Colin Ingram topscoring with a run-a-bal 27.

Shimron Hetmyer hit a run-a-ball 39 and Shefane Rutherford 30 from 17 as the hosts scraped a victory against Khary Pierre's 2-18.

TKR will now play the winner of tonight's second qualifier between St Kitts and Jamaica for a place in the final.

In the eliminator, St Kitts eliminated Jamaica by a mere two wickets with just one ball to spare in a thrilling match at Providence.

Glenn Phillips blasted 103 from just 63 balls, including nine fours and four sixes, to propel Jamaica to what seemed to be a formidable 191-5. The Kiwi received supported from Ross Taylor, who made 33 from 23, while Ben Cutting took 2-45.

Anton Devcich hammered 50 from only 23 balls, but there was not much else, as St Kitts somehow scraped home against Ish Sodhi (3-36) and Oshane Thomas (3-43).

Congratulations to TKR team and management. They bounced back from the 2 defeats by GAW and roared back to win the final.

A well balanced team with players performing at the right time.

GAW has a lot of soul searching to do.

their team did not look like a close unit. Just a bunch of individuals. One could sense some unhappiness in the ranks. They got too many washed up players and need a change in management.

I believe that TKR had players who were always prepared to fight that little bit harder for their country...there were more Trinidadians in their side than Guyanese in the Amazon Warriors side. I believe that as a result, Trinbago Knight Riders had players always willing to lay more on the line, while the international and regional players in the Guyana team were just earning a pay cheque.

I've used a SR of above 135 and an average of above 30 for batsmen, and an ER of under 10 and an average of under 30 for bowlers. Batsmen had to score more than 250 runs, and bowlers had to take more than nine wickets.

This would be my Caribbean XI from this year's CPL, comparing "new" talent to existing superstars....

1) Shai Hope - 288 runs, ave 32, SR 137.14 (yes, Shai Hope!)
2) Darren Bravo - 353 runs, ave 39.22, SR 131.22
3) Shimron Hetmyer - 440 runs, ave 40, SR 148.14
4) Nicolas Pooran - 267 runs, ave 33.37, SR 144.23
5) Rovman Powell - 329 runs, ave 54.83, SR 162.06
6) Kieron Pollard - 330 runs, ave 47.14, SR 159.42
7) Andre Russell - 163 runs, ave 23.28, SR 196.38 & 14 wkts, ave 20, ER 8.75 (there for the bowling)
8) Carlos Brathwaite - 10 wkts, ave 28.30, ER 7.86
9) Sheldon Cottrell - 11 wkts, ave 25.45, ER 8.61
10) Khary Pierre - 11 wkts, ave 13.36, ER 5.65
11) Oshane Thomas - 18 wkts, ave 17.66, ER 8.36

IMHO, players added to West Indies T20 squads over the next year should come from this group of players.
