N Pooran, with just 19 list A appearance's and S Cottrell with only 14 ODI's since 2015, were the two standouts of this tour.

BWI select XI failed to score off 55% of the deliveries they faced, the tournaments worst return.

They hit the most sixes, ran the least amount of twos and suffered the most run outs.

Dropped catches also featured prominently in this campaign as did a record number of wide's (72).

Its less than unlikely 3 week training camps, 2 years of HPC, CPL, R4D or S50 will eradicate any of these issues before BWI enter into their next round of WC qualifiers.

In fact, I virtually guarantee it (see what I did there ?) #rinseandrepeat

Some thoughts on what we have witnessed so far:

”The disappointing aspect of the 2019 World Cup is the predictability of the final four. Australia, India and England were always favoured, and solid New Zealand were most likely to be the other semi-finalist. That's exactly the way it has turned out after more than a month of scrapping.

There was the odd upset - Sri Lanka's surprise win over England gave the tournament some purpose in the last two weeks - but no outsider made the final four. This is confirmation that money can buy happiness. India, Australia and England are the three most financially stable boards, and New Zealand have, for some time, been one of the more efficient ...
