The old private schoolboy system is what the English was getting gunned for in the 80's, when their results were so bad it got to a stage they had to start recruiting more imports from the empire. Today as then they can rely on this vast pool of excess resources in times of need.

Bwicbc are in no position to replicate this method of recruitment but as we see, all their captains in all formats at every level are from one island, probably one or two schools......such a non inclusive approach when selecting leaders is unlikely to promote much beyond discontent.

The schizophrenic nature of WI *fan support may well be a symptom of such selection process' but the manner in which administrators maneuver themselves into these decisions does much more damage to the on field product. How else could they end up with a squad like this :?:

NO amount of restructuring will eradicate the 12 votes. 12 self serving votes which consign the BCA, GCB, TTCB and JCA to a level below that of associate nations. Comparable with state, province and county teams while Afghanistan, Ireland and Bangladesh are assigned the resources full ICC member status affords them.

Can anybody say high performance center and three week training camp.....
