The road to capturing political power began in earnest symbolically at Charlie King Junction, Fyzabad last night for the people’s partnership.

The flames that consumed Charlie King in the 1930’s seemed to metaphorically consume Patrick Manning and his government as speaker after speaker slammed his administration.

Errol McLeod, chairman of the Movement for Social Justice said what Fyzabad, which intervened in the 1930’s to change the course of the country’s history did not complete then, had last night begun to complete the job.

Noting that Prime Minster Manning had said that the opposition was too immature to form a sustainable government, McLeod alluded to his 21 years of public service as a union leader in the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU). He said he had reached adulthood while he likened Manning to a ’forced ripe’ fruit which had become over-ripe and was in a state of decomposition to the cheers of the crowd.

Stating that Manning was looking for sympathy from the voters by describing himself as the most vilified Prime Minister ever, he said what else could he expect if he was the worst Prime Minister ever.
