Yesterday, it was the turn of the Bahamians to shine, at the Brussels Diamond League. Jeffrey Gibson won the men's 400m hurdles in 48.72, ahead of American Bershawn Jackson (48.76).

Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas won the women's 400m in 50.49, ahead of American Francena McCrorory (50.59) and Jamaica's Steph McPherson (51.00). Trinidadian Renny Quow won the men's equivalent in 45.29, ahead of Kevin Borlee of Belgium (45.43) and Jamaica's Peter Matthews (45.74).

Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands won the women's 200m in 22.12, ahead of Allyson Felix of the USA (22.22) and Jamaican Elaine Thompson (22.26). The men's equivalent was won by Femi Ogunode of Qatar (19.97), ahead of Antiguan Miguel Francis (20.22), and Jamaica's Rasheed Dwyer (20.27).

Caterine Ibarguen of Colombia won the women's triple jump with 14.60, with second place going to Jamaican Kimberley Williams (14.28).
