The historical and archaeological evidence is not consistent with the written accounts.

" Even Hebrew writing can be traced indirectly to Egypt. Hebrew script is based on the script of the Phoenicians, who in turn borrowed extensively from the Proto-Canaanite and Proto-Sinaitic alphabets, which in fact developed from Egyptian hieroglyphs.

At the time the seals and corresponding bullae of Hezekiah were being produced, many other examples of Egyptian influence were present in Judah. Egyptian hieratic numbers are used on Hebrew dome-shaped weights and ostraca.

The Egyptian ankh is widely used on seals. The Egyptian god Bes is frequently painted on storage jars, as at Kuntillet 'Ajrud, or appears as an amulet; later Bes is found on fourth-century BCE Samarian coins. The Judahite Ashtoret or Asherah wears an Egyptian hairstyle. Sphinxes and griffins found in Israel wear crowns of Egypt's upper and lower kingdoms.

An oblong frame resembling that of an Egyptian cartouche (a sovereign's name enclosed in an oval) appears on several seals and bullae - but unlike those in Egypt, it contains no royal name.

Winged sun disks, similar to those on our bullae, appear on three Israelite Hebrew seals of the eighth century BCE. This emblem is found even more often in Phoenician iconography ".

Israel National News, April 9th 2014

" 3,300 yr-old Egyptian clay coffin with gold scarab found in Jezreel Valley "

" Since the vessels interred with the individual were produced locally, we assume the deceased was an official of Canaanite origin who was engaged in the service of the Egyptian government,” researchers said.

" A rare gold Egyptian scarab seal on a ring was found next to the skeleton. The seal bore the name of Pharaoh Seti I, who ruled Egypt in the 13th century BCE.

Seti I was the father of Ramses II, believed by some scholars to be the pharaoh depicted in the Passover story of the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt.

Another possibility was that the coffin belonged to a wealthy individual who chose to imitate Egyptian burial customs, the IAA said.

The discovery of the coffin serves as evidence of Egyptian control of the area in the Late Bronze Age, according to the IAA "

So, during 1300 BC, the time of Moses and the supposed exodus story and 600 years before King Hezekiah, Israelite elites are producing Kemitic synbolism in the Kemitic controlled promised land.
