LOL hole on!!!..you mean massa still SOUR over Warri putting LICKS pon him? And duncy you're not making sense. MAKING HOME CONDITIONS COUNT IS THE NAME OF THE GAME!!!..and for too long we've not been doing that because we've been intent on creating "quick" tracks that suit the likes of England, NZ, SA and Aus, whilst the Asian sides would come over and spin us into trouble. Now hopefully folks will see that spinning tracks Is the way forward for us and we will begin to push this game-plan at the senior level too. The key to all this is finding a long-term allrounder In the mold of Dwayne Bravo though, that is the next step so we can have three pacers and two spinners at all times.mikesiva wrote:AfCrow and his fellow trough-dwellers have presided over such a decline that they're hailing this victory over the Lions as the second coming of the Messiah....
Baby steps...this is a good start, but it's at home on spinning tracks against a side notorious for its inability to play spin.

AFRO is the feeling that in a 'spinners track' shootout at test level West Indies batsmen will fare better than the opposition batters? Not withstanding that it is early in the year for the tourists what struck me during the England Lions tour was the question of how many of the (uncapped) West Indies A players will kick on to become 'winning' seniors?AFRO wrote: ... Well if we do the maths, it's evident that we're producing more competent spinners than the likes of NZ, SA, England and Australia. So logic would tell us that if our tracks are conducive to spin, why not use that to our advantage? Bangladesh are a prime example of doing this In recent times and Sri-lanka have done it for years. By playing two spinners, it puts less pressure on our pacers and would put us in a unique situation where selectors would only need to pick the two best quicks In the region.howzdat wrote: AFRO is the feeling that in a 'spinners track' shootout at test level West Indies batsmen will fare better than the opposition batters? No-one is denying that Dwayne was a world class player. But when you openly say "IPL, Trini and WI last", and the come out and diss Davey In public, you know full well that LICKS WILL BE SERVED!!. Di Pm did try to talk to him just like we tried with Darren, but when these men start making money it's seems like they feel they can do anything and get away with it .mikesiva wrote:So AfCrow now realises it was a mistake to drop Big Bravo, because we're still searching for "a long-term allrounder In the mold of Dwayne Bravo".
He's a big miss from the ODI side, which is one of the reasons why we're currently playing World Cup prelims now...look wha' we come to, eh?
The 'a' team is giving us hope, but as howsdat says, "how many of the (uncapped) West Indies A players will kick on to become 'winning' seniors?"
In the first of three ODIs at Coolidge, the 'a' team beat the England Lions by five runs. Jermaine Blackwood hit 99, and allrounder Rahkeem Cornwall 44, to propel the West Indies to 272 all out, as Curran, Gleeson, Coughlin and Parkinson all took two wickets each. Cornwall took two wickets, but the star of the show was medium pacer Keemo Paul, who snared 5-49 to dismiss the Lions for 267 all out. Sam Hain hit 144 and Nick Gubbins 52.
can anyone argue that this isn't a great step In the right direction for our cricket?
