Dave Cameron trying to spin it that the
WICB will benefit from the new changes...he's talking live.

He says that our revenue will increase by 100%, largely because we will be playing Bangladesh and the minnows less, and we'll be playing the higher-ranked teams more...so nuff licks, then!

Dave says that the
WICB deficit is US$10m....
He expects to get more money for playing against teams like India, rather than teams such as Bangladesh. He however admits that the amount of money we command will depend on how well we do...I guess we're screwed, then!
The tenth ranked team will play in the Intercontinental cup to justify it's ability to stay up.
He expects to now be able to fund a longer FC season....
However, he considers the current Super50 tournament to be a success.
He doesn't mind if no fans turn up to watch matches without TT in it, so long as folk watch on TV.

Cameron talks a lot of management-speak which means little or nothing...talking of "signing on" and "models" to deal with the Leewards problem.
They're hopeful of getting sponsorship for the dung heap...we'll see.

Muirhead : We will be number one in at least 1 format during the next cycle, having done some introspection we recognise the our game needs improvement, we will be rolling out a plan in the next 12 months.
Cameron : Leewards receive 27% more development funding than the other territories.

Cameron : The FTP will benefit us more when we are more competitive as i predict we will be, if we proffesionalise our game and implement the points in our ongoing plan.
Pybus : Aim : Managing and development of talent needs to improve, across all skillsets.
The 3 year aim is to get a professional set up, full time staff supporting full time professionals.

Pybus talking about making sure that our regional cricketers are professional...I guess that means that they can earn a living from their cricket, and don't have to look jobs.
We'll see if that really happens....

Pybus: regional academies for 19-23-25 year olds....
Hmmm....to me, that's a bit late. If you can't get together an XI to play for Kingston College, then that's where the problem lies.
You need to start much earlier than that....
Cameron says that our FC cricketers will become "professionalised" this year...that's something we can hold him to.

Pybus : School & amateur players must have a clear path to club cricket and the national team, regional academies looking after 19-25 age group, player pathway.
Emerging players need more games, more runs wickets to ask the selectors serious questions about selecting.
Wicket quality is a priority, more ownership in the preparation of regional pitch's is needed.
Cameron : Re : WIPA. We have had the best relationship in a long time and without a MOU we have managed to move forward together, we shall be meeting about the MOU during July.
Our time lines to proffessionalise WI cricket are short, we have a meeting in March where we hope to have made some positive decisions.
WICB also ask for local corporate sponsorship's to specifically help support the club structure throughout the region.
