I spent three weeks at the back end of last year volunteering my skills as a carpenter in an unoccupied commercial unit that was reclaimed by members of the local community, with the kind assistance of a number of people from farther a field. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/201 ... ts-destiny" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"
I worked long hours and it was a mentally taxing experience, the utopian fairytale aint all that it might appear.
There are still unfolding consequences from the night in question that are yet to be fully realised along with many victims from the surrounding area who did not even live in the tower that are in need of support and counselling, the struggle most certainly continues..... and will likely reverberate for generations.

More than 100 council homes in the London borough home to Grenfell Tower are lying empty in what has been branded a “shameless” waste of resources.
Half of the 133 unoccupied houses in Kensington and Chelsea have been vacant for more than six months, according to figures released by the local authority, which presides over an area with one of the highest levels of homelessness in the country.
Fourteen council-owned homes – which have at least 20 bedrooms between them – have been vacant for more than two years, with some properties lying empty for more than five.

Odd as it may seem I actually agree with a lot in this article
An Bord Pleanála has granted planning permission to build a controversial €460m super casino in Two Mile Borris, Co. Tipperary but what effect will such a massive gambling development have on the local community, and on Irish people?
