to hear dem fellas from up the islands on sissy talk, you would swear wat we alking about is some mighty fine flow since Viv and Andy appeared.
Andy in full flow was magnificent!
and Viv as glorious batsman carried all before him and and as cappo had an unparralled run...not becuase he was a tactical genious but because he was a powerful person extraordinaire, and commanded out of his team what he could not draw out by inspiration, tactical diplomacy and people skills.
but Viv forced his protoge' Richardson on the westindies as captain and we witnessed the nosedive of the revolution, signified by the selection of a team that Richardson could lead...not the best westindian team... by 1995 and defeat for the westindies...after 20 years of winning
Steve Waugh must have rubbed his fingers in glee when Sherwin Campbell and Stuart Williams walked out to open bat for the westindies....1 test match between them. the team had been stripped of Marshall, Haynes, Greenidge, Logie, Dujon.....all to satisfy Richardsons incompetence abd incapqability of dealing with different and strong personalties.
in the space of 5 years westindies had gone from the father-like leedership of Lloyd, through demanding Richards to the antithersis of leadership, a weak and socially fractured leadership that cut it only because somewhere in the process, people powerful enough insisted in the maintainance of Richardson
to Richards credit he came back and was instrumental in correcting the mistake of Richardson appointment with prouncements that made it impossivle for Richardson to continue and so he resigned the leadership, making demands to stay in the team that made his future selection impossible.
from that point the Dottie revo went into stasis, to be re-awakened with the ascension of Julien Hunte. and as if not missing a beat we had a perfect resumption of the idiotic flow left cut short by Richardsons departure.
the leadership of Julien Hunte has been a couple - 3 years of unadulterated nonsense, signified at this point by a slide into the Richarson format of selecting a dead-in-the-water captain and a team to suit his low level, ensuring continuing defeat for the westindies.
there-in is the Dotie un-revolutiont
A Reverse Revolution...The Dottie UN-Revo!

so we have the signatue policies attesting to the unity of the Dottie un-revolution, in the selection of deab-beat teams to suit the captain, players in the team for no other reason than as support for the captain, or otherwise no threat to the captain.
whether they can play to the level required or not of secondary consideration.
and at the wicb, in the admin itself we have a perfecting of undemocracy, a self-feeding system that ensures un-opposed election of chairmen. this system has worked wonderfully to get Julian Hunte re-elected...and the impresion here is that Hunte will go on getting re-elected for as long as he likes.
in oher words there is no democracy at the wicb and the Dotties in there are having a whale of a time keeping it so and cavorting about at the expense of westindies cricket.
the Dots are the most backward region in the westindies. it was perhaps folly of us to expect much from them in administration, when the crooks from the bigger islands were the ones who created the wicb systemaic rot in the first place

but be all that as it may, we have to call a spade blac as it is...or usually is. I have seem white spades, and green spades et
anyway calling it what it is the Dottie revolutuion is an UN...not a revo but an UN-revo, dsrkenss not light even if all ah dem bawling light.
deh might be bawling FOR the light in the the night of darkness that Hunte has created up there in cricket.
bawling revolution as loudly as one can does not make it so. in fact after years of failure from 1995, after years of chairmen like Rosseau, Griffith, Hall, Gordon, Hunte has seemingly exhausted westindian capability to withstand and the team seems resigned to losing under Sammy.
the irony is sweet indeed. here is an energised UN-revolution, tiring out the westindian people on its way to total catastrophe. it is supposed to be the other way around but it isnt in the westindian case!
