It's about bloody time!
:?
It looks they were shamed into it, probably by articles such as this one....

http://blogs.espncricinfo.com/wc_tourdi ... he_big.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"However, no amount of good behaviour, no amount of apologising can make up for what happened last night. For the most important issue right now is not the image of the Bangladeshi fan. It’s that there was a security breach last night and no authority right now is ready to acknowledge it. It’s that last night Chris Gayle felt unsafe in the country. That he wondered how, if those responsible for security couldn’t keep stones away, they would keep bullets away. When your house is robbed, you don’t debate the robbers’ moral make-up, you think of how you could have protected your house better.

"The incident has evoked reactions from the three main parties: the police, BCB and ICC. All three reactions have been shoddy. The police, for some reason, thought that they needed to stress that the people were attacking their own countrymen, not the visitors, and that it was a case of mistaken identity. Not only is that version not accurate – ESPNcricinfo learned later in the night that both buses were hit and there wasn’t much to tell one bus from the other – but it beggared belief how attacking Bangladesh players can be seen as a smaller security failure than attacking the West Indians."

It couldn't have been said better....

it was an unfortunate incident by a handful of fans but it would be unfair to generalize or blanket the blame on Bangladesh as a whole. The ICC/ Security, etc should take the blame since security in that regions should be taken more serious to begin with.

For the Bangla players safety, all their games should move to Lanka or India if possible... :)

:lol:
However, as the story you've posted shows, some serious errors were made with security....

Some of the measures they are saying they should be implementing should've been done before this incident occurred. They are basic security measures!
:shock:

True...I guess they were trying to save some money or taking shortcuts.. Glad they are doing the right thing now and hope that it is adequate security to keep the players safe.

the bangladeshi are not responsible but those who carried out the attack. it seems most likely to be anger over the defeat, an end to expctations of a deep bang run in the tourney.

but in these times you dont take chances with that sorta of thing and it was essentlail for a full, clear and comprehensie response...investigation, increased security and full, concerned transparency.

even if it was a spontaneous event you want everyone to know that ayou have brought everything under control, there will be no further evens and no copycats who may feel emboldened by that event.

alarcrity and seamless administrative responsibility should have been the response.
