South Africa‘s leading spinner Keshav Maharaj suffered a nasty injury on Day 4 of the recently-concluded second Test against West Indies at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. The left-arm tweaker agonized over the injury while celebrating a wicket.
It all happened when Maharaj challenged the umpire’s call in his third over after hitting Kyle Mayers on the pad. When the three reds were shown on the big screen that would overturn the on-field call in his favour, Maharaj took off on a run to celebrate the dismissal. However, as soon as he began to run, the Durban-born cricketer pulled up when he twisted his ankle.
