Would Simmons Be A Better Coach..Gibbo?

This is about Simmons and Gibson. Simmons took a part-time village team and beat England. Gibson couldn't do it his bwoy Sammy and team. Gibson has been coaching this team for 13 months now and we are going backwards. WI dropped to #9 in the ICC ODI ranking under his leadership. Yet, I didn't hear him one day take responsibility only pointing fingers. You have to admit that Gibson is over his head...

Players have to pull them weight except the captain and coach!

Regarding Sri Lanka, Gayle triple and RAIN that save we. What happened in the ODIs in SL? Both team (test & ODI) have the same core players...we regressing under Ottis!

Yep we dropped to 9th AND NOW WE'RE BACK IN 8TH UNDER HIS LEADERSHIP too!! , you also seem to be forgeting that in all but two of Sri-lanka ODI's we've been missing key players, Baugh, Dwayne, Taylor, Barath and Edwards would have made our team much better at the world cup but Gibbo didn't have them to use, if he had i'm sure we'd have done much better, so try looking at the bigger picture instead of just hating on Gibbo.


IMO he deserves to coach the team for the next two series, lose both then we can start to call for his head, because thus far he's had two test series against SA and SL (who were both in the top four in the rankings) and he lost one and drew the other so he's not that bad.

Gibson is not a people person, he doesn't know how to deal with people... Gibbos doesn't know how to communicate to the players.. He doesn't know who to get the best out of them.

Gibson might have a coaching certificate ..... But, he is ONLY of a bowling coach because he was a bowler. Gibson coaching philosophy is to rule by fear, bully, undermine, etc..

Roach is not a product of Gibson , he was doing fine along... Shillingford is one of the player that came under him. Gibson didn't sort out Russell's run up and the commies @ the WC called it cheating. So our coach is encouraging this behaviour? IS this how he is training the players to operate in a professional sports?

What about Benn? Benny regressed under Gibson and same for Sammy, etc.

The Pakistan coach was just a bowler too but that hasn't stopped them from getting results has it? furthermore OTTIS HAD TO START SOMEWHERE!!..and it's not everyday you see a West Indian getting a coaching job at one of the biggest nations in the game,

Benny is getting older now and lets be honest he wasn't exactly Murali when Gibbo arrived!!!.. but even so if you check out Gibbo's first test series incharge against SA Benn finished JOINT TOP WICKET TAKER with 15 wickets, so Benn hasn't been that bad under Gibbo's leadershi[ .

can somebody do ne the great favour and justify a head coach in cricket?

I have been scratching my head for a long time now trying to figure out the value of a head coach, especially one like Bennet King was for the westindies at a million per...a quarter of the yearly sponsorship deal the wicb had with digicel.

i agree that the investment, once begun and we insist on having a coach Gibbo shud coach for at least the next 2 series. we have to give him the benefit of doubt just yet. I will give him...no problem!

where I will give no more rope is wih the selectors, the president and his right hand man and the COMMITTEE inside the wicb dat in control of everything especially the looting of the wicb.

I not hating on Gibbo fuh sure. at this stage however does not look good enuff to me, but I give him time to clesr up the issue. yet I saw his presser after we lose in the Wurl Skup and was underwhelmed
