News Room Sport was able to confirm that Stuart was relieved of his duties on May 31, 2023, following a period of “review.” President of the Guyana Cricket Board, Bissoondyal Singh, in an invited comment, said on Saturday morning: “It was a decision of the executive after being under review for the last six months.” ImagePresident of the Guyana Cricket Board, Bissoondyal Singh While Singh did not go into specifics about the matters that led to Stuart’s dismissal, he highlighted that there were issues that arose in the past that led to the six-month review of his functions. The GCB head pointed out that Stuart was written to prior to the executive decision to have him terminated. Stuart has had two stints as Territorial Development Officer- he was first appointed under the Chetram Singh administration and functioned between June 2005 and February 2009, before returning in October 2013 up until his sacking. The 49-year-old, who played six Tests and five One-Day Internationals for West Indies in 2000-2001, confirmed his departure from the role. “I am considering the way forward,” he told News Room Sport.
