Dwayne's attitude towards WI has always been questionable though, have you forgotten his well known comments about "IPL first, Trinidad Second and WI third"?
if he wants to put the IPL before WI then he should be honest and CUT HIS TIES ALTOGETHER so that another youth like Carlos Brathwaite can take his place and gain experience, instead of this "i'll play ODis but miss the Tests" crap that he has going on right now, them kind of arrangments aren't good enough imo.

the Oz are not socialist like I am, looking for revolutionary change as the means to set up westindies cricket properly. but Oz have done a great deal for their players.. a monstrous amount relative to the westindies and the wicb.
yet the Oz have problems and also a players union. short of revolutionary chahge I wud like to see the wicb move in such a direction with the whole crickett organisation but critically treating westindian players like the citizens they are and not opposition with whom war must be constantly made.
i wud make a world of difference such a change. it is only when administration, the power and authroity come inot such line with the interest of the people that the people are keen to put nation before self.
it is only when it is the case, that the nation is in symbiotic relationship with its citizens, does it become worthwhile for the citizen to sacrifice for the nation...for one is assured that the nation will look after the citizen...when in chosing to represent the nation the citizen loses out big time in refusal of the outside opportunities they give up, DURNG THE MOST VALUABLE EARNING TIME OF THEIR LIVES.
if we do not see it this way we can end up condemming our own for wat is simply normal self-interestd beahviour, dictated by their condtitions in life, their social satuss and where they come from in the society. in cricket deh are all ordinary bwoys whose security in life is by no means guranteed otherwise or seperate from what they do...playing cricket.

well its up to the wicb to select him or not. the position of the wicb shud be exactly that...if it pays to select Dwayne when he is available then we pick him.
if deh can do better by all means select the better person...which is what deh will do anyway!
as long as all the parties are doing well there ought to be no problem. but there are problems....

even with westindies cricket the way it is there is no need for all the bad blood and recriminations that have flowed.
the wicb knows whats going on. in all good conscience how come they dont understand when they are westindian living in the westindies and know the conditions well?
but the wicb wants total control and obediance to their dictates regardless if the players lose out or not.
what they offer they believe is good enuff for the likes of the players and they shud take it and shut up and play cricket...their best and hardest at all times or else....
its an elitist appraoch and it wont work. they killed the kings in days of old for that!

Correction: the Test series against South Africa was played last year, not the year before....AFRO wrote:I already said HE WAS POOR IN THE SL TESTS, he was also poor in the SL ODI series, then he went to the world cup and was poor again, the year before he played against SA and only got ONE GOOD KNOCK on a flat track, other than that he was average, before that he was average in Australia too, THAT'S WHY HE'S BEEN GETTING DROPPED RECENTLY, he wasn't dropped for nothing!!BallOil wrote: What are you talking about? Shiv felt offended what was said and is trying to clear his name... You can't assassinate people career just like that.![]()
How is that arguing? How communicating with the board could affect selection? What is the criteria for selection?,
Also Hilaire made his comments but he didn't name Shiv did he? and instead of keeping his head down and waiting for his chance like Sarwan did Shiv start bawl all over the place and dig his own grave in the end!!, which i'm happy with to be honest because as you know i didn't want him in the team anyway!!.
Against South Africa, Shiv had the highest average of WI players (75), and hit the highest aggregate (300). Even if you take out his highest score, and you take out the highest scores of the other WI players, Shiv still has the highest average and the best aggregate in that series....
Against Sri Lanka, Shiv averaged 31, which was mediocre, not poor. Only four other West Indians batted better than him (Gayle, Lil Bravo, Smith and Nash). The players who had a poor series with the bat on that series were Barath and Big Bravo.
In any case, cricinfo has news that Shiv will play in the Test series....
http://www.espncricinfo.com/west-indies ... 13771.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"The tension between Shivnarine Chanderpaul and the WICB appears to have eased slightly, with the batsman set to play in the Test series against Pakistan starting next week. The West Indies side for the first Test has not been officially released, but ESPNcricinfo has learnt from a reliable source that the squad includes Chanderpaul, who was axed for the one-day series that concludes in Guyana on Thursday. The Test squad will also include the fast bowler Fidel Edwards, who hasn't played for West Indies since the tour of England in mid-2009. The uncapped batsman Kraigg Brathwaite, 18, is also expected to be named, after an impressive few months of first-class cricket, which was followed by his unbeaten 168 for West Indies Under-19s against Australia last month."
Is Afro on suicide watch?

Oh look Mike is talking garbage again!!
, firstly we played the SA Tests THE YEAR BEFORE THE SL ODIs, so don't try to be "smart" Mike, you're way too old for that!!
, secondly as i've said a million times already WE HAD NO DARREN, SARWAN, SAMUELS OR BARATH in the SA series, therefore his only real competition was Gayle and Nash,
As for that "rumour" about him being in the Test squad, well good for him, BUT AFTER HE OPENED HIS BIG MOUTH TODAY do you really think he's gonna play? bwahahahaha keep praying Mike!!

Once again, Afro is talking rubbish....
Here's the link to the Saffer Test series, which was played in June of 2010.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/west-indies ... 39112.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
FYI, Afro, 2010 was last year, not the year before....
Here's some more info that will drive Afro over the brink:
"Fifteen players have been invited to participate in a two day match on May 8th and 9th at the Demerara Cricket Ground in Georgetown. The 15 players are: Carlton Baugh, Devendra Bishoo, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Fidel Edwards, Brendan Nash, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Lendl Simmons, Devon Smith."

Erm can't you read Mike? THE SRI-LANKA ODI's WERE IN 2011!!, which was part of Chanders shocking performances
, but you can continue to distort my views if that makes you feel better,
And again Mike DO YOU REALLY THINK HE'S GONNA PLAY AFTER OPENING HIS BIG MOUTH!!? being in the squad is one thing, BEING IN THE FIRST ELEVEN IN ANOTHER!!
,
And here is a little article that is sure to drive Mike to the bottle this evening!!.. from Shiv's letter he released today he said..
SO LIKE I SAID!!..KEEP PRAYING MIKE!!. BWAHAHAHAHA

LinkAlso, not that anyone should need to be reminded, but it seems like the selectors have short memories, so I’d like to remind them of my record of high accomplishment as a servant of WI cricket for the past 17 years, as can be seen below.
Despite this, the silliness from the WICB continues, both from its surrogates and from indirect messages that have been relayed to me as coming from some of the selectors that, “Chanderpaul can mek as much noise as he wants, but we not going to play him!” well I’m not going to shut-up and quietly go away! I want to represent my team and play cricket for the WI, especially since my recent record amply demonstrates that I continue to be an accomplished international cricketer.
SO LIKE I SAID!!..KEEP PRAYING MIKE!!. BWAHAHAHAHA
