The La Bonne Intention (LBI) cricket team recently received a complete set of uniforms and two boxes of cricket balls, compliments of GR Builders GY. The donation, according to president of the East Coast Demerara club Yeuraj ‘Randy’ Khemraj, is most welcome as it will serve to enhance the game there and give players a sense of identity. GR Builders GY deals in the delivery of sand, stone, loam and crusher run and land clearing and filling. Its parent company is based in New York. Chief Executive Officer Rovin Hariram was on hand at the LBI Community Centre to present a quantity of uniforms, which included shirt and pants, as well as hats. LBI Community Centre Cricket Club president Yeuraj ‘Randy’ Khemraj said the club is grateful for the support. “We appreciate this and we looking forward to working with you guys,” Khemraj told representatives of the company. Khemraj underscored the importance of having partners like GR Builders GY, noting that such support will significantly impact the sport at LBI. “These things go a long way in supporting individuals and the club as a whole, so it will make a positive impact.” CEO of GR Builders GY Rovin Hariram was elated to lend support to the club after a friend of his came to him with the idea. “As someone who grew up in Guyana, I have a passion for cricket and I’m happy I can make a contribution to this club,” Hariram said. The young businessman had some words of advice to young cricketers at the club, and those across the country who wish to pursue a career in the sport. “Follow your dream and passion.
