The Auckland Hearts have lured the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year into their squad for the upcoming domestic season.
West Indian allrounder Stafanie Taylor, who last month picked up the major gong at the ICC awards in London, is coming to New Zealand to further progress her already rapidly developing career as she seeks to regularly play against quality opposition.
Taylor, 20, has been representing her country for three years and the Jamaican one of the most exciting female cricketers on the international stage.
During the past year, the aggressive right hand top order bat scored 610 runs at 76.25 from 10 one-day internationals, as well as claiming 15 wickets from her offspin.
She should provide some real firepower for the Hearts, especially in the Twenty20 form of the game where she is likely to open the batting. Her offpsin is also more than useful and will provide a handy option for Auckland in both forms of the game.
She has committed for the entire season.
''Stafanie is a great player and also a very exciting one so we're delighted to have her on board,,' Hearts coach Maia Lewis said. Link
