Legendary West Indies batsman Brian Lara expects the World Twenty20 Championship final to be a cracker but says England could tear up the form books by beating the imperious Australians.
The two teams will clash at Kensington Oval today to determine the new kings of international T20, following a bruising 16-day campaign waged in Guyana, Barbados and St Lucia.
Lara, who quit international cricket in 2007 following the Cricket World Cup, said the final might represent a change of luck for the rampant Aussies.
’I think the final is going to be a great one. The two best teams, I believe, are in the final,’ the prodigious left-hander told CMC Sports yesterday.

I am glad england won...but it is not that I am overjoyed or anything.
I have been kinda pissed with Lara for always looking at the 'enemy' and predicting negative for the worstindies. but he seemd to have got his one right..his assesment of the abilties of the two sides.
but isnt it interesting that it old sides are doign best these days as all the rest of the nations in cricket are under some cloud or the other?
while there isnt war in India things are tuff! and here is administrative chaos. RSA is the same. Lanka just came out of their civil war and the westindies is stuck in the nineteenth Century administratively.
only Oz and hingland are free of strife, rich amd doing fine! so especially Oz... are wining most up for grabs!
interesting!
