The wait
Two balls before, Tendulkar turned down a single to fine leg. At that stage, convinced that he had one eye on the century, Darren Sammy went up to Bishoo and asked if he wanted to go round the wicket and target the rough. The bowler asked for a couple more deliveries over the wicket. Tendulkar missed one, and as a stadium and people in front of TV sets across a nation froze, Rod Tucker lifted the finger.
I really don't know if everyone is afraid to write anything real negative about dis selfish skunt....Fuh all his statistical achievement, what he did here was CLASSLESS....

I even think that DRAVID is greater than him even more and when it comes to crickting brains...Lara is way ahead of him!!! 8-)

GLAD dat BISHOO exposed his selfishness!!

I totally agree with you, WestDem....

I thought Tendulkar was very selfish there, and I was so glad when he got out. Sachin seemed more interested in his own personal landmark than in pilotting his team to victory. As you say, Dravid would never do that....

Dravid has moved up and down the order for his team, but you would never see Tendulkar doing that. He refuses to go higher than four, even though he's supposed to be the best batsman in the world.
And the way he celebrated reaching 15,000 runs tells me that it's all about personal milestones to him....

Tendy is a master compiler and what he did there was worse than what Angelo Matthews did earlier this year in England fuh Chandimal....

What is even more amazing...all the comms and none in de media seem to think its a big deal...yuh wanna bet if this was Chanderpaul...there would have been about 10 different articles already...better yet Ponting or Lara...This is a double standard that I will not support... 8-)

I love Rahul Dravid! I really do

seriously Dravid is the most impressive cricketer intellectually, I have ever seen. Dravid is impressive all-round... smart and very personable with it. he is very friendly and a part of the international coterie of players who share their experiences and insights in the game, that help make each of them better players.

I never think of Tendulkar at all. I just note his amazing statistical achievements in passing but he as a person never occurs in my mind. I wonder why!? I have nutten against the man. he is an amazing batsman

People like Laxman, ganguly, Harbajan, Sehwag...all figure as outstanding individuals, people with lives in which I am interested. but not tendulkar! he has never occured to me in this way and now, today, this moment I just realised this salient fact.

Tendulkar as a human being with a life of his own has never occurred to me before..while with so many other Indian players past and present it did..right up front

I have always rated Dravid higher than 10D. stats is just part of the equation! Dravid is the ultimate team player...which is not measured by most in considering greatness!

10D is all about milestones!

Its ok to be all about milestones but yuh also have to be smart about creating yuh own perception...

No one can argue his batsmanship but his value to the TEAM concept left a lot to be desired!!! 8-)

Sachin Tendulkar slammed a solid 76 to help India score a comfortable five-wicket victory over the West Indies on Wednesday in the first test, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-game series.

Tendulkar missed out on a potential 100th international century, but his innings put India in a winning position on the fourth day at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

A crowd of more than 10,000 had turned up at the ground to watch Tendulkar get another three-figure mark but went back disappointed as the Mumbai batsman failed to do so.

Sachin was playing for the crowd as the game already in the bag ... :)

Which idiot can draw 10,000 fans to the ground ? Let's get some in the Caribbean now!

Suh yuh agree with what he did? Yuh think dat was classy? BTW the crowd showing up to see him reach the three figure mark does give him the right to display such a classless act...in my opinion, he acted as if he is bigger than the game, his teammates and think very little of his opposition... 8-)
