Lara batted for that 400 but I never saw Lara batting with a top order batsman and refused a single juss to go after a PERSONAL milestone.... 8-)

Yuh actually sound a bit jealous of Lara's 400 there... ;)
dat match was a forgone draw. there was no other result possible in the conditions. the opportunity arose and Lara went for it.

Lara did not start out to go for 400 but to bat the westindies into a good position. he had been criticise severely for sending in Jacobs ahead of him in the previous test. deh said he was afraid of facing harmison.

so in antigua he promoted himself to #3 and went at Harmison and company.

dat is the story I know of that cricket episode. I dont think there is any more to it than dat

KOP is my friend, and an Indian cricket fan....

But I must agree with WestDem. I watched the video again, and after Sachin turned down that leg-bye, I was glad he was out lbw to Bishoo. What he did was disrespectful to the Windies. Yes, India were winning, but that was rubbing it in their faces.

Lara was a selfish person, but I never saw him doing that to the opposition. That said, KOP has a point - that innings of 400 was all about breaking Hayden's record. That's the only reason why he extended the WI innings so long....

I've also put my views on the subject here:

I think this article says a lot about both Chappell and Tendulkar....

http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/conte ... 39968.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Remember the clashes they had? Yes, Chappell seems to have been a bit heavy-handed, but it does seem that the senior players were, and probably still are, behaving like prima donnas.

It's not just a West Indian phenomenon!
