Former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin on Friday rubbished Vinod Kambli's claim that he reversed the team's decision to bat first in the World Cup semi-final against Sri Lanka saying "there is something wrong with Mr Kambli's brain".
"To talk like that is something disrespectful to the entire team... I don't know how Kambli came to know that we were going to bat first (after winning the toss)," said Azhar, whose cricket career came to an abrupt end after match-fixing allegations against him, told Headlines Today.
Insisting that there was no decision to bat first, he said, "No opening batsman had padded up."
"We lost the match unfortunately... sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. But it's absolutely rubbish," Azhar, who is now a Congress MP.
