linkTwenty-one year old Guyana left-handed middle order batsman Vishal Singh scored an unbeaten 79 yesterday to break the 20-year-old Kent League record of 1012 runs set by former Australian Test batsman Justin Langer.
“I’ve finished the season with 79 not out against Canterbury Cricket Club. My tally is now 1077 runs in the league season in 17 innings and is a new Kent league new record,” Singh told Kaieteur Sport yesterday from London.
The solid Singh has enjoyed a wonderful season with the bat and averages 88 with 8 fifties and 3 hundreds.
“It feels good to have a record here in the Kent league and surpassing someone like Justin Langer. I’m looking forward to batting well when I get home and have a good season,” said Singh who played three matches for Guyana in this year’s regional First-Class season.
