HAVANA — Fidel Castro said Cuba's economic model no longer works, a U.S.-based journalist reported on Wednesday following interviews with the former president last week.

Jeffrey Goldberg, a writer for the Atlantic Monthly magazine, wrote in a blog that he asked Castro, 84, if Cuba's model — Soviet-style communism — was still worth exporting to other countries and he replied, "The Cuban model doesn't even work for us anymore."

have not read fully golbergs yet. no time! but Goldberg is not a marxist and relative to dialectics he is probably talking nonsense, even if his conclusion may contain some accuracy.

the question is.. is there a fidel system?

there was and is not! things change all the time but it is the nature of change, the base from which the change took place relative to the laws of social change etc.

when I come back I will try do to some justice to dialectics to help push an understanding of the things I say. I did not do that on 446 in particular but I will do my bets now.

have no fear for cuba. indeed americas embargo has kept things back terribly. remove that and cubas process of change will speed up but most likely not in the way the empire intends
