You can give the Cappo to anyone ...they still will get some serious licking (see the Winless Windies thread). Could Sammy make the team as an alrounder or would he play as a specialist cappo? Are you giving him the captaincy because of his association or close proximity to the WICB mgmt? BTW, who selects the captaincy for WI?

Anyways Ganga should lead this squad taking Devon Smith place in your team. Deo should be on this tour to firm up the batting.

Still not getting it... Here is what the WICB said..."a contract is not a requirement for selection". They didn't say refusing a contract will make the players ineligible for selection. Thus, Pollard and Bravo are available to play for WI.

is dedication a selection criteria? If so, how do you measure this?

There is no question that Pollard and Bravo can make millions playing 20/20. Well, let them go make their millions elsewhere.

You are right! Only players who put West Indies crircket first should be selected to play for the West Indies.

With regard to Darren Sammy, he is not the best qualified to lead the West Indies. Ramnaresh Sarwan is, but he seems to have some attitude issues, so let Sammy lead the team and let Sarwan focus 100% on his batting.

You decided that you didn't want to be a slave. You wanted to call your own shot. You wanted to control your own time, so you chose to be independent. Good for you.

With regard to Bravo and Pollard, they work for the WICB. They have been offered contracts which they have refused to sign.

Listen carefully! Bravo and Pollard are entitled to do what's in their best interest.

But the WICB is also entitled to do what's in their best interest. The WICB may choose to accomodate Bravo and Pollard or they may choose to fire them.

If the WICB chooses to accomodate Bravo and Pollard they will be setting a very bad precedent. In future big stars will put the IPL and other foreign teams ahead of West Indies cricket.

Like I said, Bravo and Pollard are entitled to do what's in their best interest, but if I were running the WICB Bravo and Pollard would not play for me again. I would wish them well and select players I deem 100% committed to West Indies cricket.

Actually consulted for two more years and took up a full time position at the end of the contract with the same company (which was around the the same time of the bust.). 10 years later..I'm still here.
