Like you I have a feeling Ramdin will tour Sri Lanka. In July 2005 Ramdin debuted against Sri Lanka and scored 56 in his first test innings. He averaged 27.00 in 2 tests in that series.

I believe Ramdin understands that he has to apply himself more at the wicket. He needs to be more focused and disciplined.
Pandit-Ji, yes.. Ramo is only 25 and as Mappy pointed out previously that keepers mature around this age.

Ramdin has been on the go since his debut... Could it be that he is overworked? I would think so, especially knowing that WI bowling attack is the weakest ever. As a result, WI spend more time on the field and a weak batting line-up doesn't help.

I wonder what is the average time WI spent fielding, since Ramdin came on ....

Bally:

THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE!

Since Jan 2006(that's nearly 5 years) Denesh Ramdin has played more tests than any other WI cricketer.

Tests played since Jan 2006:
37...Ramdin

35...Chanderpaul

34...Gayle

28...Bravo

26...Taylor

25...Sarwan
Tests since 2006

Ramdin may very well be suffering from exhaustion, and his ability to concentrate at the wicket may have been hampered. But he needs to toughen up. Cricket is a man's game and if Ramdin wants to have a long career it's time to play like a real man---toughen up and focus. Borrow a page from Shiv's book---PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!

carlton baugh was given a contract by the wicb and andre fletcher got a development contract. the way i see it if baugh or fletcher perform better than ramdin in the upcoming 50 over competition ramdin will not tour sri lanka.

Agreed! Ramdin has to toughen up. But the keeping job is a specialist position especially in test cricket.
Honestly I think Ramdin just became a product of a mediocre environment.

I for one don't want to see Ramdin in West Indies colours for a least a full year. He's got to learn that his place is not a certainty and that continued failure with the bat is not going to be tolerated.

Let him go play club cricket and for TnT for a year, make runs, and earn his way back in - he'll no doubt value his place in the WI side more if he feels he's earned it.
