Australia A v South Africa ends in draw

The 3-day tour match between Australia A and South Africa has ended in a draw at the SCG today.

South Africa batsmen Hashim Amla and JP Duminy returned to the crease in the morning session before Amla (53) retired out to give his teammates a bat and Duminy (31) was bowled by Australia A Captain Andrew McDonald.

John Hastings and Glen Maxwell both struck after lunch dismissing AB de Villiers (24) and Jacques Rudolph (39) respectively.

Maxwell ended the innings with two wickets in his 27 overs and Hastings finished with one wicket in his 23 overs including 12 maidens.

South Africa declared at 6-277 after tea and Australia A went out to bat losing the wicket of Liam Davis (0) to Dale Steyn. Rob Quiney (11) and Phil Hughes (1) went on to post 1-13 before the end of the match was called.

Watson injured and is out the first test.

SA must be strong favorites to win the first test. Australian batting looks pretty weak to cope with the strong SA pace attack.
