So the WICB upgraded from development to:
David Bernard Jr – C
Andre Russell – C
Baugh has bee added to make up the list of 15 players.
Carlton Baugh Jr – C
link to original list with players offered contracts by the WICB.
On what grounds Baugh was selected for this contract? Did Baugh passed the fitness test or them use his tiny figure as a proof? Who was the PE hinspector?
How is Baugh matched up to Ramdin in stats? Who remembered Baugh's last tour?

Just goes to show you how bare the cupboard really is in the wicket-keeping department.
But they had to send a message to Ramdin. I believe he is still their preferred choice but they couldn't in good conscience offer him a contract given his piss poor batting over the past 12 months.

This is a step backwards...like WI. On the last tour Marshall replaced Baugh as a keeper because he couldn't catch a fly.Snoop wrote:Just goes to show you how bare the cupboard really is in the wicket-keeping department.

What is WI problem a keeper or a batsman? Why is Smith with a contract as a specialist batsman who only has a 2 pts better avg than Ramdin? Baugh test avg is 19 compared to Ramdin's 22

If Benn and Sammy have B contracts, then surely Nash, Shillingford and Barath should have B contracts too....
And couldn't the WICB find two more youngsters to give developmental contracts too? Kraigg Brathwaite? Jason Holder?

Mike there is NO method to the madness.... I bet you they don't have any criteria or process for these various levels. Them probably just eye balling em... Plus, the CEO and board just approves it without questioning (see below).mikesiva wrote:If Benn and Sammy have B contracts, then surely Nash, Shillingford and Barath should have B contracts too....

“The Selection Committee, headed by Clyde Butts, recommended the list of 15 players for Central Retainer Contracts and a list of 10 players for Developmental Contracts. The Executive Committee approved the recommendation.”
