pandit_ji...absolutely great win by India. Credit must be given to the miracle by Laxman and support of the tail..

Here is what MOM ZAK said ...
Zaheer Khan, who returned an eight-wicket match haul, was declared the man of the match, but left-arm pacer said he was more than happy to trade his award with VVS Laxman, whose unbeaten 73 paved the way for India’s one-wicket win on Tuesday.

“I would have been the happiest person if Laxman had got the award. We play for the team and we are like one big family. I would rather take a victory than these awards. If he gets it, nothing like it,” he noted during his post-match comments.

While his bowling set the stage for India’s victory, Laxman finished off the job with a fighting half-century. “Laxman’s innings was very, very special, which is why we call him Very Very Special Laxman,” said Zaheer. “It’s remarkable how he has got us out of danger so many times.”

The greatest travesty in Indian cricket for me was when they dropped Dravid and Laxman around the period from 1998-1999 in the ODI team to accommodate cowlashers like of Robin Singh and Ajay Jadeja. I actually refused to watch India matches during that period.

They way the selectors treated two of the most elegant, refined, and classy batsmen to ever come out of India was beyond shameful.

But alas, true class always outshines mediocrity. 8-) All hail VVS bhai. :D
