Looks like pre-Games favourite Daniel Bailey of Antigua is a no-show, so there goes our last hope of seeing someone run under 10 seconds....

Yeah, on the BBC....

A Caribbean 1-2-3 in the third heat. Callendar of Trinidad wins in 10.29, ahead of Jamaica's promising young Ramone McKenzie (1o.45), and Headley of Barbados (10.56). Another Caribbean athlete, Welsh of Anguilla, was DQed for false-starting.

Guyana's Adam Harris comes second in the re-run fifth heat to advance, but the Nigerian Oghoghene looked very good. He must a contender for the gold.

Natasha Myers of St Vincent easily wins the first heat of the women's 100 in 11.34....

Ayanna Hutchinson of Trinidad struggled to come in third in the second heat, which was won by Nigeria's Osasuwa in 11.49.

Wales' O'Neill won the third heat, with possible favourite Harrigan of the BVI comfortably second, and Reece of Barbados third. Jamaica's Thomas was unsurprisingly run out of it....

Surprisingly, Jamaica's Yanique Boothe made it thru as one of the fastest losers.

MLF wins his second round heat in 10.20 ahead of Zakari 10.27, with Griffiths of Bahamas dipping to edge local favourite Qureshi, both timing 10.30....

Oshane Bailey looked very good in winning his second round race in 10.12! And there's still more in the tank....
Oghoghene won in 10.13, and Callendar (10.18) and McKenzie (10.40) made it thru in second and third, but not their most convincing performances....

Clarke easily clocks 10.19 to win the final second round heat, ahead of Armstrong.

Women's semi-finals....

Natasha Myers of St Vincent won in 11.38, followed by Endicott of England. Trinidad's Hutchinson looked to be struggling.

Harrigan of the BVI could only manage fourth in the second heat in 11.51, and could miss out.
