and the westindian people deserve all they getting here..destruction by their own hand. self destruction! everwhere in the westindies there is self destruction, reduction of the westindian blac people by their own hand, their own policies, their own stupidity.
it is westindian blac leadership in politics who refused to take over the meaningful sections of the westindian economy leaving it in the hands of the forriner, and refused to develop local alternatives to finance the development of the region.
eric williams was the first man in dat and to the last he fought westindian progressives who sought to correct that problem, to a standstill and their ultimate defeat.
up and dong the islands we have had blac governments who established dictatorships, locked down the westindian people, jailed the radicals or drove them from the land. these governments screwed up the education and made sure the westindian people were miseducated in their own land.
there is so much more but one instance will suffice to prove my point although this example will probably bring me enmies in these here pages.
I was born in Trindad and when I knew of it at first the population of Trinidad and Tobago was 876 thousand people, composed of a big majority of people of african descent. today that majority has disappeared into a majority of Trinidadians of Indian descent, who now command the political power on a strong commerical and business base. what happened in the interim is a case study of afro-westindian folishness that continues unabated as we speak...a horrendus example of which is the utter destruction of the magnificent house of westindies cricket, as we speak.
by 1991, the last time I visited Trinidad and Tobago I noticed what I termed a growing, routine prejudice in the treatment of blac Trinidadians in the course of the normal day as i went about my business... Trinidadins of Indian, chinese and white descent were treating blac trinidadians with disdain. the only fact that mitigated my own treatment was the obvious reality that i did not live in Trinidad and people I dealt with saw that right away.
that fact however did not lead to suceesss in my venture...to buy some land in Trinidad....and I have not gone back since. I was misdirected all the time particularly when my purpose became known. the only blac people in the process to whom I spoke at the ministry of agriculture, which featured prominently in my project, seemed intimated and were quite unhelpful. the only official who seemed eager to assist me was a brown individual on the white side, whom I read as looking for a bribe.
by that time however, I had lost interest, was not prepared to live in Trinidad eating ethnically derived prejudices, prejudices I had left behind once before, and was seeking to leave behind again by returning to Titty. but prejudice towards blac people is increasing in the whole world not decreasing even as blac faces appear at the pinnacles of power, all over the mass media, in commercials, reading the news, consulting etc..places where such faces were previously locked out
I have never seen anything like the blac post independence failure of blac nations the world over, anywhere in the lil bit of history that i know..the utter stupidty and destructiveness of blac people, of our own collective interest.
where the hell did this come from, all this stupidty and self-destructiveness that appears to be the nature of the social mode of movement by westindians of african descent?
look at what we have done to cricket..just like that! as soon as Patrick Rosseau and Clavis Joseph ascended the wicb throne it has been steadily downhill for westindies cricket. there has not been a bright administrative spot in westindies cricket for 16 straight years. it has been a decade and a half of total gloom and doom, hopping from one crisis to another. how can we stand it!?
it is time for me to move on anyway! I have no claim to westindian society...not anymore for sure.
