There has been something nagging away at mind for a couple of years now that reading the linked article brought once more to the forefront of my consciousness. Specifically, the way that the ruling classes in the West, together with the vested Media interests and political commentators, educators etc etc brazenly misrepresent and twist everything to fit an agenda that basically says: Everything is just fine in the West (so long as we keep the criminal, anti-social element in check!), it's in the under developed, undemocratic third world conditioned nations that the People need resort to mass public protest.
It sickens me to hear the recent inner city riots and mass public protests and marches etc etc characterised (by and large) as the activity of an ignorant underclass, knowing no better than to destroy their own local neighbourhoods just so as to loot and pillage the latest electronic 'must-have-gadget' and/or fashion accessory be it clothes, jewellry etc etc etc. Same applies to the various Occupy Movements in North American cities as well as the protests that accompany the G4 summits and the like which are given scant respect nor are they discussed in an enlighgtened way.
Conversely, the ones over there (anywhere that is not classified as a Democrary) are lauded as a Velvet or Orange or People's Revolution; an Arab Spring Or Whatever-you-may-wanna-call-it Uprising! How many column inches they dedicate to keeping us updated on the lengths to which those poor people have to go in order to try to secure the rights that Westerns have as a matter of course!
Man oh man The Elite suck. Doping up their populations with garbage hourly news bulletin's, tv shows and the like! Taxing the poor man to death whilst the rich get richer. The corporations find newer and newer ways to raise prices, cut quality. The Bankers fcuk everyone over and claim that if Governments tighten controls they will take their 'unearned income profits' elsewhere! The Supermarkets shaft the farmers making it uneconomical to grow or rear food? Meanwhile the poor man has to shop in the 'value range' only to discover that he end up eating horse or worse. Meanwhile Iran and North Korea, so they say, are trying to develoop nuclear. Bin Laden done dead so who will be the next International Bogey Man? Any bet he is a foreigner, slightly brown to boot!
Man oh man The Elite suck. And to cap it all, is how many mother's chillun wearing de Government's boots and coming home in a special delivery zipped-up bodybag?
