This side badly misses Dwayne Smith, Suleimann Benn, Tino Best and Fidel Edwards....
I think Barbados will struggle this season.

I came here to note this mike but I see you beat me to it. missing also is Dwayne Smith. I hope his is a drop as well and permanently too...never to play for bim or the west indies again.Ryan Hinds has finally been dropped....
there comes a time when some players can not longer be tolerated for stupid performance. Hinds is played out and Smith is an arse. you say tenks to Hinds and tell Smith to piss off.
Bim did everything possible to get the best out of Smith..even making him captain hoping the responsibility would settle him down to play serious cricket. it did not. it is time for goodbye mister smith.

Benn might be a mistake but how old is he..31. that is way too early for a player like Benn.....
but bim are ahead of skunt Gibbo by dumping Best and Edwards. I do't went to be pisssed at Edwards for he is a player who gave his heart for the west indies.
Indeed I wont be hard-hearted to him. Edwards bowled and bowled and bowled without support in weak teams and got creamed. he took a share of wickets and would have prospered more in a stronger attack.
but Edwards is spent now, nothing like he used to be. he is 32 or thereabouts. its is time. so with appreciation and some ceremony we must tell Fidel Edwards goodbye. Best is not so achieved but he is a personality, tried hard, and at 31 is fit and in great shape, bowling the best he ever has.
but there is no future for him at his age and quality in the presence of burgeoning youth who needs the space Best Occupies on the west indies team.
the Bim selectors have gone a long way here driven by what they see as a need to move on, to bring on the youth. they have gone slightly over board by excluding Benn..and maybe Best for another year or so. but we will see. if they want to win the trophy they prolly need those 2
but we will be able to judge in 3 months the efficacy of Bims selection policy.

Edwards, Benn and Smith are at the Bangladesh premier league aren't they? thats why they weren't picked, while Best is currently with the WI squad,
That teams batting line-up is the strongest they've got isn't it? so i'd say they will be fine,
Brathwaite
Boucher
Edwards
Hope
Carter
Dowrich (wk)
Carlos Brathwaite
Is more than good enough imo and will be tough to run through, i'm really keen to see how Hope does, he's flattered to decieve when he's played for Bim in the past but rumours suggest he's been really working hard at the HPC and his game has improved, so we'll see,
Their bowling unit is likely to be..
Chase/Nurse
Brathwaite
Jordan
Cummins
Warrican
Apart from cummins and Warrican that tail is as strong as it gets imo, Royston Chase is pretty much a middle order batsman himself and a good one from what i gather.

well I am glad Ryan Hinds is gone anyway...
and I hope hey are in fact done with Edwards..and by next year Best. and I am happy that some of them including smith are making some money internationally.
I would hate to see Smith back in the Bim side though. he is one of the players who truly makes me angry every time I look at the modern west indies
