Sebastien says Laurent’s death a blow to local cricket

Dominica Cricket Association vice-president, Lockhart Sebastien, believes the death of Kaleb Laurent will leave a void in the country’s cricket landscape.

Sebastien was speaking following the death of the former Dominica and Combined Islands cricketer, who passed away recently at age 65.

“There is no doubt in my mind that he will be missed by the Dominican cricketing fraternity,” said Sebastien, a former Windward Islands batsman.

“The void that his death has left will be difficult to replace. He was so much of a nice individual and gave his all in whatever he did. His commitment to Dominica’s cricket in unquestionable.

“He was always around giving advice and assisting whenever possible. He served as senior national team coach and selector for a number of years, and was only replaced as a selector this year at his request. I can say for certain that he will surely be missed,” Sebastien added…

Kaleb Laurent was a very good bowler , and generally had batsmen from the other Windward Islands befuddled by his deliveries . I saw him on two or three occasions bowling in SVG .

I'm not familiar with him, how far he made it to, WI domestic? Any stats we can see how he performed in the local competition?
