look jason what are the criteria for a successful message board?
This is my opinion and I am not casting it in stone.
A message board must reflect the Community and its concerns .
If a thread is posted ,stay within reasons of the topic.Try and avoid personal attacks .Moderator can stop them immediately ,by time outs.
With so many islands ,insularity and emotional attachment will be present ,but it can be done in a mature way .
Some posters are serious about discussions ,others jovial . Highlight them so all understand.
Bantering and teasing will always be present , moderator cuts in before slugfests starts.
Individuals should not be banned a 3 day time out ,no posting privileges. It increases with each time out.
Have posters feel they belong ,so it feels like a community project ,just think if a Forum has a few
hundred members and collectively with one voice write for changes in that sport ,the administrators
will listen .
The board you speak highly off don't have this voice to be heard ,its my friends, then others then banned
posters. Some islanders feel they have no say and to highlight the problem the Admin call posters "Trolls".
Amazing.I fail to comprehend why Admin has this superior attitude ,its my cricket ball and I am going home
so nobody get to play. Very sad .
Ask members about what changes they would like to see . They are the ones who will make that forum grow and be successful .
These are some of the ideas I would like to see.
i am not up to all of that at all. that is not the conception of society I have..rather would like to see.
all of what you say is predicated on management, control, structuring from the top down. all to fit your way of seeing things, your conception of what a successful mesage board should be.
isnt all that rather limiting? is that all the collctivity is capable of? where does all that structuring lead?
I forget the name of the dutch cities involved but they got fed up with the traffic laws and their enforcement as an inordinate waste of expensive time and the fact that the whole body of shit laws represented a diminution of, and insult to their human consciousness, especially at its current state of evolution, they at once chucked the traffic laws in some cities to see ow it would work and now they have evolved a system that is governed my the people in their practical intent to survive and live positively, to facilitae their evolution properly.
the self governing system has reduced accidents almost to nil, stoked up the sense of individual independence and interdependenc by all the people watching what they are doing alowing flows accoding to observed traffic conditions etc.
it is a wonderful deveopment and presages a way forward in the full development of the people, their individuality and awarness of their collective need for cooperation in the job of development and survival.
it appears to me mewsarshe that you are quite the dictator as i called you in one of my earlier posts, that you are the next side of the Narine coin...that both of you are the same... thats why the fight between youse, and its extention all over the net on cricket boards.
I have no poblem with the cussing, the fighitng, the banter etc. freedom will in time find its own contours and limits. thats the way life is. everything has its full potential and therefore when found those are its limits. and when those limits have been reached the thing transforms into something esle out of the previous activity....which would not have been possible without that previous activity.
I dont kow what allyuh worried about! we know the process of life enough to be unafraid of freedom. yet we appear to be endlessly afraid of freedom!
