Nikki Haley – Becomes the First South Carolina Governor of Indian Origin!

The US mid-term polls may not have gone too well for the Democrats this year but it has brought a lot of reasons to rejoice for the Republicans as well as Indian community. Nikki Haley has become the first Indian-origin woman to become the Governor of a US State. Nikki Hale y has made history by becoming the Governor of South Carolina.

Nikki’s parents migrated from Amritsar to American in search of better opportunities however, she was born and brought up in South Carolina. In her Victory speech Nikki said that this victory will certainly go down in the [age so f history for its uniqueness. Nikki is the second Indian –American after Bobby jindal of Louisiana to become a Governor of a US State.

South Carolina Has First Indian American Woman Governor

Nikki Haley has been elected the first Indian American Woman Governor in the history of the state. Haley was the daughter of Sikh immigrant parents from India and also becomes the first Indian American woman in the United States to ever hold a governorship. Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal was the first Indian American governor in history and done that back in 2007.
