“How We Play!” will have cricket fans jumping, Caribbean style

Caribbean Premiere League today launched their official Anthem: How We Play!, a dance song which will have T20 cricket fans jumping, Caribbean style.

How We Play!, written and produced by Trinidad’s Marlon Chen of MRI and Precision Productions, features two of the region's hottest artists‚ Kes (Trinidad & Tobago) and Konshens (Jamaica), like you've never heard them before.  The innovative mix is sure to spawn a new genre Chen calls "Caribbean Dance"— a mix of Soca, Dancehall and Techno music. With How We Play!, Chen combines the best elements of each genre and the result will inevitably make you want to get up and dance.

CPL CEO, Damien O’Donohoe explains the concept for the CPL anthem: “When it comes to West Indies cricket, everyone rallies round. Whether it’s on the pitch, in the stands, on the stage or watching TV and the Caribbean Premier League will take the game to a whole new level. It’s much more than a sport, it’s an amazing party experience where everyone comes to play, and How We Play! embodies that.”

Cricket fans will experience the energy and vibe of Caribbean cricket when Kes sings: “Get up and unite for your team, we’ll give the best we’ve got.  Hands up, right up and play hard.  We’ll take it to the top, it’s how we play”.

And fans will feel the pulse and soul of what cricket means to West Indians when Konshens chants:  “Every ball, Every bat, Every bleach (bleachers), Every pad, Every bail, Every wicket, Every stump! Ah the heart and soul and passion ah the culture, Caribbean blood when people come out all nation for the team in ah unification; when the stadium ram bleacher to grand stand ah the meaning of beautification.”

On being a part of the official CPL anthem, Konshens expressed his excitement, “It feels good to be a part of anything Caribbean, especially cricket which is such a big part of our West Indian culture, and it’s a great achievement for me.”

Fans will be able to download the CPL Anthem, How we Play! From the official site http://www.cplt20.comhttp://www.cplt20.com, and Caribbean Premiere League’s official sponsor, Digicel, will make the track available on Digi Tones.

The first ever Caribbean Premiere League begins on Tuesday July 30 with 24 matches played across 6 Caribbean countries: Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago.

Well that track featuring KonshensSojah & kestheband was not visible anywhere, even on the cpl site, as the CPL Anthem till how many hours after this topic hit the www? And so, it would appear that my remarks here are aimed at what should now be taken as the soundtrack to the CPL T20 Promotional Video which, dare Isay it, also purports to "Interpret the Vibe and Pulse Of Caribbean Cricket" or am I wrong about that as well .... Ah well :!:

I wonder if Sarwan will be dancing to the CPL anthem come August....

Or will the Leicestershire contract prove to be more lucrative?
