ESPNcricinfo previews the first Test between Sri Lanka and West Indies in Galle
Watch out for...

Adrian Barath announced himself with a sparkling century on Test debut late last year, but injuries have hampered his progress since. He has played only one first-class match in 2010, and hasn't been in the best of form in the domestic season. This series, though, will provide another chance to see how his potentially exciting opening partnership with Gayle develops.

Thilan Samaraweera is unsure whether he'll find a place in the one-day outfit, but he is a dead-cert when it comes to Tests. Whether he's good enough to boast of a 50-plus average has been debated for long but Sri Lanka won't care as long as he keeps performing like he did in his previous Test - making a century in the first innings, and 83 in the second to lift his side from the depths of 87 for 7.

Boy, am I glad I woke up early to watch this day's play....
8-)

Today was the Chris Gayle show - eight sixes and 26 boundaries, as the Jamaican hit a run-a-ball double hundred. And man, I enjoyed his celebration on reaching three figures!

But it was also good to see the young Trinidadians Adrian Barath and Darren Bravo notching up 50s.

I would like to see the guys reaching 650 at tea, and then declaring....

Congrats to Chris on his double.. 8-)

yeah..I'm sure it was good to watch Chris in action. Before the tour I was a bit critical of Gayle with a single digit average but this double changed things. :)

580-9 declared, and the wicket of Dilshan for a duck, represents a start we would've been happy with if it was offered to us before this match started....
8-)
Gayle wrote his name into history with his mammoth 333. Well done, Chris!
