Maybe, stumps, maybe...but it can't be associate countries, where their standards are worse than ours.

So, you finally admit that AB and Amla are miles better than any of our batsmen?
And what a way you start worship the ground that Gayle is walking on now....
Gayle is 35, and his body is not what it used to be. He's had so many injuries that he can't move forwards to spinner as easily as he used to. As for Lil Bravo, he's such a mental mess that it's risky placing your faith in him. No, they wouldn't have made much of a difference.

But, to humour you, let's look at their records against all teams. There is a significant difference between Steyn and Philander on the one hand, and Roach on the other....

Steyn, 75 Tests, 383 wickets, average 22.56

Philander, 26 Tests, 115 wkts, avg 21.57

Roach, 28 Tests, 111 wkts, avg 25.98

Okay, even if you take into consideration that Steyn is 31, and Roach is 26, what is Steyn's record at 26?

Steyn, 34 Tests, 172 wkts, avg 23.97

Philander is 29, roughly the same age as Roach, so comparisons with Roach are inevitable - no need to adjust his record.

The fact is that Roach is good, the best we have, but he's not as good as Philander and Steyn, who are outstanding, and easily the best opening bowling attack in the world right now.

BWAHAHAHAHAH lord i've heard some absolute CRAP from this idiot before but this takes the biscuit  ..."Vernon and Kemar are roughly the same age"? VERNON IS CLOSER IN AGE TO STEYN THAN HE IS TO ROACH YOU DUMB PR/CK!!   ...if anything Kemar's current record compared to Steyn'sart a simlar age suggests he's only one big series away from matching him!!...but of course you wouldn't want to see that would you because you don't care about WI players...JUST JAMAICAN ONES....that's why you want the union to end!! ,

And in closing if you want to compare anyone why not compare Taylor to vernon and steyn? ooops..he's a damn SHITHOUND so you don't want to go there do you? 8-)

We dont have the Pitches in Caribbean to develop Fast Bowlers.
Afro , bending you back to gain extra mph on those godforsaken 22 yards is Unfair.
our boys will get disk and back problems
to compare with Saffie pitches and young fast bowlers.
Apples and Oranges comparison !

mike, Birmingham and Harare as associates : I am not looking at talent level of players
Just the forrin conditions viz., weather and 22 yards Strip !

Well stumps, I've never claimed WI had " loads of pacers coming through " so as I agree with the above it wont oppose my existing position.

What I would like to know is if there are more than 2 good tracks for spin in the region :?: Bim and one in St Lucia I think.

Narine and Shilly are, currently unavailable.

Bishoo, did well for a creditable length of time at International level before they/he..... & Benn's abilities, I personally believe, are fairly reflected in International numbers.

Miller and Permaul, have both had only a limited amount of opportunities.

Then comes Nurse, Khan, Bobb, Jacobs and some players I can't think of right now.

:?: Do any of these tracks help develop spin bowlers either...
