Yeah, that's true; because I know they won't drop him

ICC Cricket World Cup, 15th Match, Pool B: West Indies v Zimbabwe at Canberra, Feb 24, 2015

Match scheduled to begin at 14:30 local time (03:30 GMT)

JO Holder*, MN Samuels, SJ Benn, DM Bravo, JL Carter, SS Cottrell, CH Gayle, NO Miller, D Ramdin†, KAJ Roach, AD Russell, DJG Sammy, LMP Simmons, DR Smith, JE Taylor

Meanwhile ...
“We want to show the world that we are a good team and we can fight... everyone contributed,” Russell said. “I think I can play my natural game from there. The way the game was set up was perfect for me to finish the innings off.”

Russell spoke to members of the media after Saturday’s match. Details for download of this media opportunity are below
Who gives a damn whatever Chris Gayle scoring?! Whatever! would go something like this ...
“We want to show the world that we are not a one man team team and we can fight... we are still waiting for Dudus Don-A-Gorgon to stop conning, impersonating an opening batsman of some calibre, rater than an openher” Russell would then have said. “I think his natural game now appears to be played-out in discotheques where his game is sorta like more set up to get off than start a cricket innings.”
Whatever! would then end.

But Russell didn't.

Howzabot we tek a guess at the number of gals dem dat give a damn whatever Chris Gayle scoring? Prince most certainly doesn't   Whatever :!:

49.6 Masakadza to Gayle, OUT, and he tries to go for the sixes record with a powerful bludgeon down the ground as he ends up top-edging a catch high to midwicket, which is taken safely in the end
6.14 pm: Hope you were able to catch your breath? I know I am still struggling! Gayle walks off to the pavilion setting Zimbabwe a very difficult target of 373 for victory. We will be back shortly with the second innings, so don't go anywhere just yet. There should be a live showing of Match Point on the main homepage, so do check that out as well!
Chris Gayle: Getting a bit of cramps, but feeling a bit tired. We still have 50 overs to get through. I didn't want to be out with the first ball. I said "you can't be serious?" I just want to thank god for this knock. I was under pressure to score runs, and I kept getting messages from twitter and on my cell phone. I have never felt this kind of pressure, but in the end, I am sure I gave them something to talk about. It was a bit slow at the start, not to mention keeping it low. I just tried to take the bull by the horns and hang out there and try and build an innings. After a while I was able to pick a bowler to target and then, in the end, I was out off the last ball (chuckles). A lot of time people don't know what you are going through as I had some issues with injuries. I am also not getting any younger so age is definitely catching up on me. Overall I am really happy, and I just want to try and build on this as much as possible. Want to build on this momentum and move ahead as we look towards the South Africa game. It was a bit easier to bat later on. I am very happy to get this first double hundred and ever since Rohit got two, I have been hounded to get one as well.
6.06 pm So how do I begin? West Indies rack up a massive total of 372 for 2, with Chris Gayle leading the way with the first World Cup double hundred. This was a record that was always pinned to him to break, and he has managed to do it on one of the biggest stages you could ever perform. His final score of 215 leaves him third in the list, after Rohit (264) and Sehwag (219) in terms of ODI individual high scores. The 372-run stand between Gayle and Samuels is the most ever for any wicket in ODIs, not to mention Gayle having matched AB and Rohit on the sixes record with 16. Zimbabwe struggled greatly in their final ten overs, giving up 152 runs in the end.
CH Gayle c Chigumbura b Masakadza 215 (212m 147b 10x4 16x6) SR: 146.25 vs Zimbabwe

And datz how a certain record collection could not pay Gayle a higher compliment .... except perhaps to add FetchDat!TM

Today, Chris Gayle, living it large, scoring 215 vs Zimbabwe.

What Gayle said

Courtesy BBC website
"With the innings, I struggled at the start and it was scary the first ball. I was like 'come on you're not serious, I can't be out on this first ball'. I needed a chance and got a break and made the best use of it.
"There's been a lot of pressure and the runs haven't been coming. This is the first time ever in my career that so many people wanted me to score runs and the messages keep coming in on Twitter, it's the first time I've ever seen so many people wanting Chris Gayle to perform.
"In the end, I'm glad I gave them something to actually cheer about. Overall, I'm really happy and I want to try and build on this as much as possible. The team can gain some momentum going into South Africa."
 Is this topic all about datz how to seek props as a motivational writer :?:

Dear MarcusGarveyLives thank you for your contribution. It will cause many to wonder whether by posting the above pic you are introducing a note of "comparative analysis" :?: ... or would that be four :?: Or was it purely in service of "contextualisation" :?:
Gayle's innings was almost ended by the very first ball he faced. He was hit on the front leg in front of his stumps by a sharp delivery from Zimbabwean paceman Tinashe Panyangara.
The on-field umpire turned down Panyangara's lbw appeal and, despite a review showing the ball would have clipped the top of the bails, the original decision stood.
Because not enough of the ball was hitting the stump according to the hawkeye projection.

Almost 9 hours - a day and a half at a test match - later and still no respondents to the aforementioned topic.

ICC Cricket World Cup, 19th Match, Pool B: South Africa v West Indies at Sydney, Feb 27, 2015

Weather permitting, Chris Gayle (fresh from his record setting feat against Zimbabwe) and his West Indies team mates will take to the field in the Australian city of Sydney to do battle with South Africa. While on a emotional level the two teams are on completely different trajectories in this Word Cup, the South Africans have easily had the better of the recent 50-over games the teams have played against each other.

The Proteas are coming off a tough loss to India, the manner of which will see them seeking to quash any accusation that they be 'chokers' come crunch time on the world stage during international competition. Conversely, the West Indies are buoyed by two victories after an embarrassing defeat to Ireland in their first game.

So this sets a scene for the game in the real world of cricket.

However, this forum poster recalls a clumsy headline coined during one of the season's that Gayle participated in the Australian T20 Big Bash League while playing for the the City's franchise team. Back then, amidst rampant hype, Chris was having a lean time of things with the bat innings after innings prompting the phrase, "See'd nay thunder" to describe what was to all intents and purposes a Gayle no-show during the competition.

Fast forward to the present it might be that I have to resurrect the term on account of the weather in Sydney. It is raining. However, being ever the quizzical optimist I will set my stall out and wonder, insofar as Gayle with bat in hand is concerned, if tomorrow we will look back and say "We see'd nay thunder at all from him"

We will see .... or we wont.

South Africa 408/5 (50.0 ov)
1.3 Abbott to Gayle, OUT, knocked him over! Gayle gave himself too much room and Abbott, to his credit, didn't experiement. Kept it straight and hurts middle stump as the batsman swings and misses. AB leaps into his bowler's arms and Abbott is beside himself as well
CH Gayle b Abbott 3 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 75.00
