Blackwood has been too inconsistent lately. Plus Singh and Hetty had a good showing against the Paks. So i don't have a problem with B/Wood sitting down.

The thing with Blacky is he's always been sub-par for Jam but when it comes to the test arena he's stood up more often than not. The issue is having two debutants in the middle order!!..Law might think it's too risky.

Law might want to go back to years when we had Rowe and Kallicharran in the test team at the same time against NZ. They both created records!

Pretending that a Rowe & a Kalicharan can be fashioned from the midst of this lot is beyond delusional! It is top-ranking ignorance and anyone who knows West Indies cricket would know that!

Kalicharan was not only a fearless batsmen but he had strokes galore even against the quickest of bowlers - and if any cricket fan believes that any bowler playing nowadays is quick then I would argue that person hasn't a clue about the heyday of West Indies cricket and the doldrums from which the team rose to be World beaters. In those days Australia had two of the most frightening PACE bowlers to ever play the game.

Alvin Kelicharan might be a forgotten hero to many but in my humble opinion and clear recollection he will always rank amongst the upper crust of batsmen produced in the region! If any of this bunch of wasters currently batting for West Indies can put a Lillee or a Thomson or a Hadlee to the sword then I eat my hat.

hahahaha! I will not disagree with you at all!

You are 100% correct.

However, we are scraping the barrel so whats the risk of playing 2 new comers vs 1 new comer and 1 below average so called experienced player? none whatsoever! But we have more upside possibilities with the 2 new comers!

The downside of playing 2 new players is another loss...vs a loss with the so called experienced B/Wood!

Its a no brainer! play the damn new players...give them a chance!

Yes, it's a shame that Darren isn't there to strengthen the batting but it's given an opportunity to the likes of Hetmyer and Singh so who knows what could happen? Powell opening instead of Leon Johnson is also a big upgrade while Samuels was just a passenger in recent times. So Imo the only real loss is Bravo.

Having watched the warm-up game Pakistan looked very ordinary to me!!..not that it's gonna matter on Friday, but let's not act like we're taking on India, SA or Australia here.
It's more than a shame it's a downright tragedy...Lil Bravo has just filed a lawsuit. Yet another one for the WICB!
"Bravo appears to have rejected the chance of a return to the West Indies side by launching a claim for damages against the WICB. Bravo, who has not played for West Indies since he was sent home from Zimbabwe in November 2016 following his criticism of board president, Dave Cameron, is claiming lost earnings of around USD120,000 based upon what he could have made from ODIs against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, BPL and PSL contracts, and regional Caribbean competitions."

On the subject of Samuels, it's not like the three coming into the side have a better FC average than him.

Samuels FC average - 36

Singh FC average - 35
Hetmyer FC average - 35
Powell FC average - 33

In what way are these three a significant improvement on Samuels? I can see you're dreaming of beating Pakistan because you describe them as "ordinary". The problem is that this 'C' team is worse than ordinary...it gets worse every year.

LOL at this foolish SKUNT thinking 120.000 is anything big to we!!!!...that's CHUMP CHANGE!!!   . Also Darren needs to shut his mouth and remember the patience we had with him after he ran home from NZ!!..and after he rejected the chance to play at the last t20 world cup in order to play "in the PCL", only to not turn for training with Trinidad and get caught PARTYING!!! ...Davey was wrong in what he said...BUT SO WAS DARREN. Sadly though it looks like his wukless BIG BROTHER is pulling the strings while Dinas whispers crap in his ear aswell!!..if he wants to play these games then fine, we all saw how di "world FARCE" came BEGGING fi another chance not long ago!!!..so try and test we again 8-) .

Er firstly Powell is an OPENER, so comparing him to Samuels is plain STUPID. Secondly lol at this desperate IDIOT acting like a 36 average compared to 35 is some kind of "massive gap"   . Your boy is OLD AND OVER THE HILL!!!..and furthermore he doesn't want to play for your wukless YARD TEAM anymore!!..so it is what it is. Imo Hetty is better than Darren was aged 20!!..now it's up to him to be better than him when he's 28 aswell.

In what way are these three a significant improvement on Samuels? I can see you're dreaming of beating Pakistan because you describe them as "ordinary". The problem is that this 'C' team is worse than ordinary...it gets worse every year.
Erm what has Samuels done in Test cricket lately? :| I know you can't stand to see your SENIOR BOYFRIENDS get dropped, but the facts are the facts. Samuels was a liability in that middle order and brought nothing to the table over several Test series now!!!..but oh no!!!..as long as he's a senior and a yardie!!..massa mike wants them to keep dem place forever!!!

PISS OFF!!!!

Team: Brathwaite, Powell, Hetmyer, Hope, Singh, Dowrich (wk), Chase, Holder (capt), Bishoo, Joseph, Gabriel

fuss time in a long time the selectors actually pick the "right" team given the circumstances!

is this a sign of hope or just an "anomaly" in their usual way of thinking? Lets keep hope alive!

btw - we know this is not the work of Brown! its got to be Jimmy or Law or a combination of both.

One down already. Kraigg out for one.
Poor Hetmyer. It was too early for him to face an attack of this calibre. Two down. He has only played 18 first class matches.

Shai Hope out for two. His test average of 17 declines further.
Singh out for nine. Afro now do you see why I was comparing their first class averages to Samuels?
8-)
Lunch 71-4.

There is no experience in this team to guide the youngsters/new comers. The veteran Shiv Chanderpaul is a master at that! Plus, the man is in top form, so why hasn't he been brought back?
