that was a blatant bad minded move by the incompetents at the factory road end! They want to show their power!Curiously, the CPL clashes with the West Indies tour of England....
The only people who will suffer are the youngsters who are trying to make their name. They will have to chose between making some IPL money vs playing test cricket work for peanuts!

The Management of the Guyana Amazon Warriors announce yesterday that West Indies Under 19 World Cup Champions player Keemo Paul has been selected as a replacement for Shimron Hetmyer ahead of this year’s Hero CPL.
Hetmyer, who was initially selected by the Guyana Amazon Warriors as the West Indies Youth Player will be on West Indies Senior Team duties and as such Paul has been chosen as his replacement.

One issue resolved...Hetmyer is going to be on the Test team, poor young man, so Paul takes his place in the Guyana team.
GUYANA AMAZON WARRIORS FULL SQUAD
Martin Guptill, Rayad Emrit, Sohail Tanveer, Chadwick Walton, Christopher Lynn, Rashid Khan, Jason Mohammed, Steven Taylor, Veerasammy Permaul, Roshon Primus, Gajanand Singh, Assad Fudadin, Steven Jacobs, Keon Joseph, Steven Katwaroo, Keemo Paul, Muhammad Ali Khan.

Are "the youngsters who are trying to make their name" the right people for selection for test match cricket? The only people who will suffer are the youngsters who are trying to make their name. They will have to chose between making some IPL money vs playing test cricket work for peanuts!

I'm finally getting around to watching my recordings of the CPL....
In the opening match on Friday, Trinbago Knight Riders crushed St Lucia in front of a packed crowd at Castries by nine wickets with more than nine overs to spare. Shadab Khan took 2-15 and Dwayne Bravo 2-23 to rout the home team for 132-9, only Andre Fletcher and Kyle Mayers getting into the 20s. Sunil Narine was out for a duck to Jerome Taylor, but Brendan McCullum hit 58 not out from 27 balls, and Colin Munro 63 not out from 39 balls to carry the visitors to victory.
Both teams had three foreignors each, but TKR had the most locals - six Trinis. St Lucia had only three Windward players. History has shown that the team with the most locals usually wins.
Darren Bravo looks so much happier in this Trinidad team than he was in the west indies test team. No wonder he chose the CPL over a test tour of England.

In the first match on Saturday, St Kitts edged Guyana by four wickets in front of a moderate crowd in Fort Lauderdale. sheldon Cottrell took 2-18 and Hassan Ali 2-19 to restrict Guyana to 123-7, for whom Chadwick Walton hit 60 from 51 balls. Steven Jacobs took 2-23 and Rayad Emrit 2-14 to make St Kitts work hard for the target, which they achieved thanks largely to knocks of 31 from Carlos Brathwaite and 29 not out from Jonathan Carter.
If no Leewards players featured in that round-up, that's because only one of them played for St Kitts - Devon Thomas. The St Kitts team featured three foreigners and three Jamaicans, while Guyana had four foreigners, three locals, and two Jamaicans.

In the second match of a double-header at Fort Lauderdale in front of a sparse crowd on Saturday, Barbados eked out a 12-run win over Jamaica.
Imad Wasim took 2-16, while Krishmar Santokie and Keswick Williams 2-24 each, to restrict Barbados to 142-7, Shoaib Malik topscoring with 33. akeal Hosein then struck back with 2-24 to limit Jamaica to 130-6, Lendl Simmons topscoring with 53 from 46 balls.
Each side had four foreigners, but while Barbados had only one local player in Dwayne Smith, Jamaica fielded three locals, which seems to be about par for this year's CPL. Jamaica included one Trinidadian, while Barbados had five Trinis...instead of Little England, they should be known as Little Trinidad!
