... on 21 December 2011, 57 year-old St. Kitts-born father of four daughters, Elder Philmore Leonard Mills of Richmond Crescent, Slough was admitted to Wexham Park Hospital's Intensive Care Unit suffering from pneumonia. He had been rushed to hospital after collapsing at home near Slough. By 24 December 2011, Elder Mills had been moved from Intensive Care to ward 9. On 27 December 2011, at around 3.00 a.m., Elder Mills, who was on round-the-clock oxygen and had a tumour on his lung, died in the custody of Thames Valley Police at Wexham Park Hospital's ward 9, handcuffed behind his back, following an incident occurred in which hospital security and then police were called. Elder Mills was handcuffed to the rear and restrained. He is believed to have suffered a heart attack.

Now that Britain is celebrating 400 years since the death of Shakespeare, I was hoping for an honest assessment of the role of Caliban in "The Tempest". Sadly, it seems that British society is unwilling to discuss the racism expressed by Shakespeare about black people in this play.

I think this sentence suffices:

"With The Tempest's Caliban, Shakespeare created an archetype in the modern era depicting black men as slaves and savages who threaten civilization."

The abuse Diane Abbott has suffered in this country has been horrendous...I have a daughter who's politically active, and I've been advising her not to get too involved in British politics, because look how Abbott's being treated:

Unfortunately, the Tories have learnt to play the politics of race to perfection. Decades ago, Margaret Thatcher pursued an economic agenda that laid waste to Labour heartlands and devastated the fortunes of the white working class. But she was able to capture much of the traditional Labour vote by appealing to what WEB Dubois called the “wages of whiteness”.

Draping herself in national pride and warning that the country was being “swamped” by immigrants, Thatcher offered the comfort and pride in whiteness. Once in power, the Conservatives decimated industry and public services by cutting taxes and allowing the rich to take an ever growing slice of the economic pie.

Theresa May has suspended the Conservative MP Anne Marie Morris after she used the racist slur "n***** in the woodpile".

The whip has been removed from the MP for Newton Abbot, in Devon, after she was recorded casually using the term at a panel event to discuss Brexit.

“I was shocked to hear of these remarks, which are completely unacceptable,” the Prime Minister said.

Hmmm, does Mrs Morris share her husband, and electoral agents, extreme position on the birth rates of immigrants and does he agree with her veiws on .... oh, but of course, he's not exactly the best person to ask is he.

Do the MSM see any other unsuitable scenarios that may arise as a consequence of these mutual opinions or is it just me over analysing ? If as suggested, 'this language is actually from another era then the only conclussion that can be reached is it was being used culturally. The name of the location holding the event, the East India Club, also appears to suggest as such.
