The Jamaica-US clash will be in the sprints....

"Few stories in track and field have been as compelling on an international level as the sprint rivalry between the United States and Jamaica - a rivalry that beginning in 2008 went from U.S.-dominated to Jamaica-led. For the first time, that rivalry will hit the indoor venue at Millrose. The defending indoor 60m world champion, two-time Olympic 200m gold medalist and 2007 100m world champ, Veronica Campbell-Brown is the veteran star of the Jamaican women's sprint corps. She headlines the "USA vs. Jamaica Challenge," where three Americans will race against three Jamaicans in both the men's and women's 60-meter sprints. Points will be awarded according to place, and the scores of the two races combined. Additional athletes in the 60m fields will be announced in early 2011."

"Carter will contest the men's 60 metres along with Commonwealth Games 100 metres champion Lerone Clarke and reigning national 100 metres champion Oshane Bailey. Mike Rodgers, Trell Kimmons and Ivory Williams have been confirmed for the Americans. Dixon meanwhile will join reigning world indoor champion Veronica Campbell-Brown and 2008 world junior representative Trisha Ann Hawthorne in the women's 60 metres. Trinidad's Renny Quow, a former winner at the MIllrose Games, will be contesting the 400 hurdles against another former winner, Bershawn Jackson....

The other American runners in the women's 60 metres are the Barbers....

Yeah, I can't see them seriously challenging VCB. Of course, VCB needs a good start. Thankfully, that's one problem she seems to have overcome in recent times.

'With her sights set on the World Championships later this year, Veronica Campbell-Brown started her season with a strong showing in the 60-meter dash. The toughest part of competing in the event for her was getting to New York. Campbell-Brown, a two-time Olympic 200-meter gold medalist, made it from Florida late Thursday night after enduring 36 hours of flight delays because of the snowstorm that shut down New York area airports. After a slow start out of the blocks, she blew past a strong field about 25 meters into the race, clocking a time of 7.11 seconds to beat American Lauryn Williams (7.22) and defending women's 60-meter champion Lisa Barber (7.23). "I love competing in New York, I'm happy that I was able to get here," Campbell-Brown said. Nesta Carter, also of Jamaica, won the men's 60 in a time of 6.52 seconds, beating American Mike Rodgers by 0.04 seconds. Trell Kimmons, of the United States, was third in 6.57.'
