Maps, I suggest you check Nash's stats when he batted in the Test series Down Under last year....
He outperformed Marcus North, you know, and batting against better bowlers than North did....

suggestion taken but I dont have to go too far! that 91 at the Gaba was good. but that is skanshs' 'home' ground!mikesiva wrote:Maps, I suggest you check Nash's stats when he batted in the Test series Down Under last year....

I oppose that to the final game when Narsing was going good in search of victory! how many did skansh score then?
but my argument is based on my claim that despite all that skansh is a mediocrity, that he does not have the skils of a real test batsman and that he will be ruthlessly exposed save in the optimum conditions for him.
he has just been exposed by Lankan spin in conditions that favoured them and not him while skill like Bravos' battled them successfully. that is thr diff right there between a good test batsman and one is merely included for want of better.
thats why the Oz passed on Sknash! and who is a better judge of talent they they in a technical sense. westindians used to be the best judge because we used to pick bowlers and batsmen juss so and they turned into Ram and Val, Holding, Syl Clarke, George Francis etc., Richardson etc.
thats my case man...that skansh is a mediocrity. I am totaly biased where he is concerened of course, for what thats worth but my assesment is as fair as that permits.
westindies would have lost big though, if Sarwan was there and Darren had to sit for this guy! westindies dodged a bullet there, got a bit lucky in this self imposed nonsense going on...sammy as cappo unbalancing the side, no sarwan etc

The 'real' Nash has just scored 60 not out to rescue the WI batting at stumps on the second day of the third Test.
you see why he's in the side now? He's justified his place in the side more than Dwayne Bravo right now....

the Lankan bowling attack is far far from as good as i thought it was. looking at them directly I now see how it came gayle murdered them first test.mikesiva wrote:The 'real' Nash has just scored 60 not out to rescue the WI batting at stumps on the second day of the third Test.

in spurts the come good..Mendis in particular. and when mendis is good he can be unplayable for shiitehounds, as was the case with westindies tail after gayles triple.
in good batting conditions as usual sknash accepted the food gratefullly. in the rain last test he flailed about helplessly as the spin darted around, luckily surviving for 29 terrible runs.
my contention of his mediocrity still stands. sknash is a lucky batsman! very lucky indeed! they bwoy shud make a profession of buying lottery tickets

Coz seems to like the real Nash...
Is Coz pushing for Nash to be named cappo??The most exciting, by some distance, was Darren Bravo's impressive introduction into Test cricket. But Kemar Roach's role as the only penetrative bowler leading the attack and Brendan Nash's continuing example of application and cricketing intelligence were others.
