Dem will need more than Haynes....dem should use Lloyd as a Cappo consultant!!!!
get rid of Gibbo and dont hire any more head coach! an expensive redundancy
get rid of Richie and bring back Andy as manager.
get rid of Sammy and make Big Bravo Captain...and in charge.
( I wud have said sarwan but wud let dat go for obvious reasons. I would indentify the best youngster on the team as vcapp to be trained upwards now to succeeded in time)
the cappo and brain trust could decide on how many position coaches they need..but no head coach
I would have a mentoring squad to mingle with and guide the team including Sir Viv, Sir Gary, Kanhai.

Hilaire then addressed the widespread notion of completely doing away with the current West Indies team – a team which, between the years of 2000-2009, has tried 59 new players in the Test arena. “For the last nine years we have been chopping and changing,” he said, as he referred to his notes. “We have put young men in the international arena only to be slaughtered and demoralised. I keep hearing from people ‘Fire those guys and bring in new ones!’, but where is the new set coming from? Who are we going to bring in? I keep saying to everybody that they have about three or so more years of embarrassment left. The simple fact is that we are not producing young men in this region that are capable of being world beaters in cricket. It’s just a simple fact. Our present crop of cricketers are simply not prepared.”

BALLOIL THIS IS GIBSON'S RESPONSE!!
When Chris Gayle holed out to Shahid Afridi at mid-off in the third over, it summed up the performance of the senior players in the West Indies squad at this World Cup: listless, disinterested and uninspiring.
"Our senior players have not performed and I am not especially happy with them," West Indies coach Ottis Gibson said at the post-match press conference. "Our main batsmen haven't performed consistently. We need some senior guys who have the hunger and the desire. We need to look at someone like Sachin Tendulkar who is the senior statesman of the Indian team, and goes out and gets runs almost every time."

first off there is only one Sachin .....Plus, Sachin had a lean run a few years ago. I didn't the coach fighting with him in the media. All the seniors Gibson targeting are averaging 40+, proven players.
Now, Gibson gets a new sets of players, what would he do now if they failed as well? Are we going to get another set, and so on?

Well you can't have it both ways!!..you keep quoting Hilaire FROM A YEAR AGO even though youngsters like Darren Bravo, Barath, Russell, Roach and even Bishoo have since shown they can perform at the top level!!.. yet when i quote the WI coach FROM A FEW WEEKS AGO you start making excuses? did Shiv "average 40" in the SL Tests? did he "average 40" in the world cup? and did Sars average 40 at the world cup too? WE CAN'T KEEP LIVING IN THE PAST, Gibbo was talking about their performances NOW!!.. which simply wasn't good enough.

Afro,
do you understand the law of averages?
A series don't make or break a player.. bro.
Shiv averaged 41 for the last 12 months.. Is that good enough?
What is your take of a 40+ average in ODIs?

And do you realise that a batsman CAN DECLINE?
Shiv was getting WORSER AND WORSER each time he stepped to the crease, from failing in the SL tests to failing in the ODI series and then against KENYA in the warm up matches!!..then he totally flopped in the world cup, there's only so many chances you can give a man and with him being 36 he's not likely to get any better which is why totally support the notion that it's time to give the youngsters a chance .

"Averaged 40" IN WHAT? he was crap in the Tests vs SL and he was also crap in the ODI series vs SL, plus he failed in the world cup so i'd rather concentrate on what he's done RECENTLY (which lead to him getting dropped twice) rather than bring up stats that include the ZIMBABWE SERIES from a year ago!! .

How is Shiv's performance relative to the team, within the same time frame your are talking about?
